I decided to surprise my sister with a trip to Vienna and what better choice than the Sacher Hotel? We were surprised not only by a nice cake and chocolates but by a room upgrade.

The room is lovely, with a big bathroom, walk-in closet; everything is spotless clean, impeccable and newly refurbished in a very relaxing muted green color. The only glitch is the view; the windows look into a light well with jutting out pipes, not the best of sights, but the room itself made up for the view.

Very kind young lady at check-in, she spoke our language, nice touch!

I especially liked the display window in the room with vintage Sacher hotel paraphrenalia, the vase filled with yellow tulips and the plug inside the safe to recharge my IPad! By the way, wi-fi access is free and it is an added bonus.

Service is excellent and even though the hotel appeared to be fully booked breakfast was perfect: food abundant and of excellent quality (all their specialties were available, a joy for the gluttons!

For aesthetics’ sake, please do change the chairs in the breakfast room; the plastic back is a little tawdry.

This is not a hotel were they call you by name (thank you for that!) everything is smoothly run, security is not a show of ear-pieced bouncers but understated and satisfactory. Considering the amount of people that crowd the cafés, guest areas are kept well separate and secure.

Kudos to all the staff who offered a fast, kind and efficient service keeping a very high standard even though some of the guests displayed a behaviour more apt to a summer camp than to a luxury hotel!

We are a well travelled couple and have experienced quite a few five star properties. We were lucky to spend six nights at the Sacher and we loved every minute of it. It is truly a gem of a property. The rooms are generous, very well appointed and impeccably finished. The service is prompt, courteous and efficient and the quality of the food is of a very high standard and as good as, if not even better than, some Michelin rated restaurants. All in all we would definitely not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone who is in search of a try five star hotel!

A luxurious hotel in the heart of Vienna. Recently renovated, classic style hotel. Spacious rooms with elegant bathrooms. A bit "heavy" lobby. Highly professional staff. Hard to find any drawbacks. A great choice if you can afford it...

The sacher is clearly the place to stay in Vienna. The rooms are extremely comfortable and very luxurious. The breakfast has a large, elegant selection and the service is very good in both the restuarant and the front desk. The spa is huge and the workout room is well done. I especially like the saunas. I would not stay anywhere else

Although I only stayed there for only one night I really enjoyed this hotel. It is situated in the heart of Vienna right across the opera. This classic hotel went trough a renovation and the rooms were one of the best that I have seen in a while. The decoration and colors are very nice and the quality is amazing. The only thing that could be better was the very small tv in the room.
