“Unforgetable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Our stay at the Hotel Sacher started with an exeptional and very personal welcome and a little tour through the hotel. The suite we stayed was absolutely great and the service was simply the best I ever experienced. Extremly friendly staff - always asking what they can do to pamper you.
An unfortgetable experience.

The Sacher is such an important part of Vienna's history. I had not been to the hotel since the redo and it looks magnificent. The rooms have every convenience and still have all the Viennese charm! The service was friendly and professional. I recognized many faces who were there 8 years ago - a wonderful sense of continuity! And the Sacher torte - the best!! Thank you and can't wait to return.

This hotel is perfect in every way!! We will never forget this fabulous property -- it is indescribably gorgeous! We can't say enough about how impressed we were with the Sacher. Should we ever return to Vienna, we will definitely stay there. The staff were so kind and knowledgeable. We were upgraded and the room was delightful. The chandelier in our room was very beautiful, there was china in a built-in lighted wall niche, there were complimentary fruits and sacher tortes in the room, a heated bathroom floor, complimentary shoe shine, two tv remotes -- one for each side of the bed -- it was amazing! And the hotel is centrally located in the heart of the city. Breakfast consisted of a plentiful and varied buffet -- really elegant! And the hotel's public rooms are just magnificent!! A fabulous, unforgettable experience!!

Room Tip: Request a room away from the elevators. We did not stay near the elevators, but feel that when you...

Good: Very cute, very nice hotel located beautifully - right opposite the Opera House. EXCELLENT service - excellent concierge - ended up speaking with 3 and they all had some great and different recommendations. Lovely room - nice sized. Small touches like bed chocolates, sacher torte (this is the place it was apparently invented), chocolate toiletries, etc really make your stay.
Bad: A tad bit expensive - but as an experience its quite nice. And given I don't recommend more than 2 nights in Vienna its not too bad.
Overall - definitely recommend it.

When in Vienna, I am always choosing the Sacher. It is THE Viennese Hotel. The building is unique, the rooms charming, and the service very personal. After the second stay, the reception clerks as well as the bar keepers know you by name. The hotel has the charme of the old Europe with contemporary standards. Critics: The room entertainment systems are not really convincing; in most rooms you can´t play your iPods. I´d highly recommend to buy an original Sacher cake as a take away.

Room Tip: Each floor has another color for the room. I prefer the red in the 6th floor.

My wife and I spent a weekend at the Hotel Sacher. The hotel is very well located and the staff very pleasant. We had a sufficiently spacious suite. The bathroom had a heated floor (very nice). Two criticisms however, breakfast in room service was really disappointing. Moreover, the WC was so tight that it was impossible to sit down without leaving the door open (I do not measure more than 175 cm).

Room Tip: Nice suites.

I always read about travelers getting room upgrades but we never do - until the Hotel Sacher. Wow - upgraded to a suite with a wonderful view of the Opera. Needless to say, I can't write enough about the suite with its attractive, modern decor and fabulous, large, marble bathroom. The lobby is fairly nondescript but the interior public rooms are distinctive and fun. The continental breakfast that came with our room consisted or coffee, rolls, butter and jam - all were just delicious (best coffee we had in Europe). They serve it in the Cafe Ana - would have been better in the main dining room. There was torte in our room and they gave us more when we checked out - a treat for a chocolate fiend like me. So happy to have stayed in this marvelous hotel in this incredible city.
