Just spent a terrific few days here, including the weekend and contrary to a previous reviewer, we did not have any noise from street revelers, and yet, the cafes (which are nearby, but on adjacent streets) were full. The staff could not have been more up-beat and helpful. Mercure has a standard for staff and cleanliness and we were not disappointed. All in all, a perfect stay. Thank you!

Room Tip: We had an upper floor room, facing the cinema

Excellent location near all major sights and close to airport bus stop, underground and trams, Delightful helpful staff, decent breakfast, comfortable bedroom, value for money. BUT, as with many city centre hotels, at night, at times there was excessive street noise from revellers, and early morning traffic noise, whether our double-glazed window was open or closed

Room Tip: All rooms seem to face the road, so ask for a top floor

Have stayed more than twelve times in this hotel over a long period. Always nice to be back. Hotel is in the first district, which means walking distance to many attractions, to nice restaurants and cafés. The street is quiet, but party-goers can make noise. Underground station nearby as well. Perfect location to use the airport bus service. It saves transfer time compared to the train. Rooms are small, comfort and service are up to standard, what you can expect from an international hotel chain. Breakfast buffet is not as good as it used to be, but is also up to standard.

Room Tip: there is the annex which can be quieter location.

We arrive from Prague through an overnight train and we had just gone through 1 day plus without bathing and rest, so we arrived lethargic, restless and spent.

I knew that this hotel won't allow early check-in considering that I had booked through agoda and it had offered various discount, but none the less, I specially check their vacancy a day before, and yes, there's still available rooms which also means it up to the hotel to offer an early check-in to me.
And so, Me and my wife arrived early and yes, not to my surprise that there turn me down flat despite them having rooms to offer, simply by the reason of the rooms are full and won't ready and asking me to come back by the check in time and we could have our luggages left at their hotel, and thus denying early check-in.(AS USUAL)
Hotel nowadays, has gone through major shift in policy from customer oriented to business oriented and I guess Mecure are none other.
So we arrive back at the check in desk by 3 and did managed to check-in by then, but when we reached our rooms, we discovered the rooms are prepared hastily with beddings not fold properly, nespresso machine without capsules, toilet floors still wet, worst part, 2 single bed instead of 1 double bed. Disappointing.
Despite this, no late check out was offered and by any chance, I think you readers should know that there charge for late check out
In Conclusion, if you are looking for a comfort, few days stay in the city central of Vienna, look at this hotel, if not, there are always plenty better hotel elsewhere.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the entrance of the hotel, it can be noisy at night with all the party goers...

Dear Guest,
thank you for describing your experience with us.
You had booked a Privilege room for your stay in Vienna. We have few of them in our hotel and I guess they were all not free as you arrived. Please be assured that we always do allow early check-in in case of availability and that every guest will receive the same treatment at the reception, no matter how the room was booked.
I already talked to the housekeeping about the Nespresso capsules and the bed: please accept my apologies. Your feedback is really important to us and help us serving you better in the future.
We would be happy to welcome you again in Mercure Wien Zentrum and convince you of the quality of our service.
Best greetings from sunny Vienna,

This was a wonderful location, great staff and good facilities. The down side was heating that was too warm which meant we had to leave the window open to be able to sleep but were then kept awake until early hours of the morning by noisy party goers coming out of surrounding clubs. If you stay here buy earplugs.

Dear Ann H,
thank you for leaving a comment about your recent stay with us.
We are pleased to read that you found our hotel great: thank you!
Regarding the temperature in the room, I am really sorry that you could not find the perfect one for you. In every Standard and Privilege room we have A/C systems that works as heater in the winter and as A/C in summer.
We hope we will have the chance to welcome you again soon and if you will forget the earplugs, no worries: we have some for you at the reception!
Best wishes

Staying in this centrally located hotel for 10 days on business, I found the hotel clean, comfortable, and staffed by excellent, friendly and attentive staff. The breakfasts were good as were the evening meals and snacks. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
