Although check in is at 2pm, we arrive 7am and they gave us our room immediately which was a very big help - if not they have a luggage room.

Excellently located on the main shopping street right next door to the Uban (we thought this was the most perfect location). Easy to get to from the airport.

Superior Room booked through Expedia was very spacious.

Airconditioning in room (have read previous reviews that there wasn't but they have added this now).

Bathroom looked new - powershower, clean, modern white look.

furniture and decor not our personal taste (we like modern) but that is a taste thing and if you like classical style furniture you will like it.

The staff behind the desk were incredibly polite, friendly and helpful.

15 minutes to walk to St Stephens catherdral and Museum Quarter is a ten minute walk down the shopping street.

Rooms are incredibly small for price even for a European hotel. Hotels.com significantly oversold the room size and amenities. For example: the debroom door actually touched the bed which was pushed up against the wall.

Room was clean and halls (other guests) are easily heard at night.

Breakfast buffet provides OK choice (continental style) and food quality is merely OK. Dinner was OK; not great food. Service is moderate to weak.

Location next to Metro is good, but for the best shopping/walking around experience you will travel to inside the "ring" in the city center. There are other 4 star hotels inside the city center for the same pricing.

The Mariahilfer shopping isn't as compelling as the shopping in the city center.

The hotel is well situated almost in the heart of Vienna. The staff is not so friendly, there are always problems with communication in english and people working in the reception have always mess in documents. Rooms are very small, but the bathrooms are excellent. The breakfast is average tasty - not bad, but not excellent. I would say that Kummer is a hotel with average quality, but situated in very nice place in Vienna, so if You expect that You will sightsee much - it is a hotel for You.

I love the Kummer hotel and stay here everytime I'm in Vienna. HOWEVER, I've never been to Vienna in the summer. The hotel does not have A/C. They will give you a small fan but it dosn't make a difference when the room is over 100 degrees. It is also too noisy to open a window for air since the hotel is located between two very busy and noisy streets. It's a shame since
the location of the hotel is perfect especially if you like to shop. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff is very helpful. I can recommend this hotel for fall and winter stays only. The hotel has an old European charm to it.

Nice hotel, some people say it is worn out, but maybe we were lucky with the room. I would not stay there with a family, but as a business person you kind of get the old Vienna feeling.

The hotel was rated as a "four star hotel" but would rather be a three star in most countries. Athough there was a heat wave when I was travelling, the hotel rooms doesn´t provide any air condition!!! It was hard to sleep in the night. After several complains, (only) the business rooms have been additionally equiped with cheap air fans.

Plus:
- good central location (shopping area, subway and bus stops)
- free internet
- great entrance lobby

I know Vienna quite well. For the price I paid for the room at Hotel Kummer, I could have definetely stayed in a better place.

Our party of five had three rooms in this hotel and were absolutely pleased with our choice. Despite some of the reviews on Trip Advisor being somewhat negative, we were attracted by the sense of style and the location. We were not disappointed: the decor was atmospheric and attractive and the three rooms we had were all spacious, clean and well-appointed. We found the rooms quiet too, as they all had thick double-glazing. The breakfasts were also good and I was impressed how calmly and efficiently the catering staff dealt with the unnecessary rudeness from (I am ashamed to say) some other British guests when there was a heavy 'rush' at breakfast time. The lady behind the bar was also a beacon of tolerance. I found the front-desk staff very friendly and helpful. It always makes a difference if you learn a few simple phrases of German rather than shouting loudly in English, I find..... I would definitely stay there again.
