Owner description: The Leopold Museum is a unique treasure-house of Viennese Jugendstil, the Wiener Werkstätte and Expressionism. It is the most-visited museum of the city's hottest cultural site, the MuseumsQuartier, and it houses the most significant and largest Egon Schiele collection in the world, as well as masterworks by Secession founder Gustav Klimt. Tip: The museum's panorama windows offer a wonderful view of central Vienna with Maria Theresa Square and the Hofburg Palace.

“good museum”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

This museum is nestled in the museum quarter and is a great place to stop for coffee or venture in to see its collection. An absolutely nice place to visit and see. it also has a collection of what Vienna looked like years ago.

“he Leopold Museum it is a true gem for modern art lovers.”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

The Leopold Museum it is a true gem for modern art lovers. We didn’t take a guided but just walk through museum. Every room had an excellent write up (both English and German) about displayed painting and sculptures. Some rooms had audio that played music that was composed at that period. Overall you can get a whole sense of culture and environment that influenced works of art.

“Interesting, but only 3 floors are open”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

There were not as many famous painters' works here as the advertising makes it sound. However the museum makes up for it by having a decent amount of information accompanying the paintings, and allowing photographs. I learned quite a lot about Schiele and Klimt, and post-war Austrian art. But the lower two floors are currently closed, meaning there are only 3 floors open to the public. I would have thought the ticket price would be reduced as a result of this, but it is not.

“An extensive collection!”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

Beautiful collection of Schiele and Klimt, as well as others, set in a beautiful building, like others have commented.

An exciting art workshop for children every Sunday afternoon for a very small charge while mum and dad enjoy the museum.

Highly recommended and will visit again when possible.

“Egon schiele... An amazing experience”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

When one thinks of vienna, klimt's name usually comes to your mind. Of course, some of his masterpieces can be found there. But Schiele at the leopold's, what an experience! This is probably one of my best memories in Vienna.
