Owner description: The Leopold Museum is a unique treasure-house of Viennese Jugendstil, the Wiener Werkstätte and Expressionism. It is the most-visited museum of the city's hottest cultural site, the MuseumsQuartier, and it houses the most significant and largest Egon Schiele collection in the world, as well as masterworks by Secession founder Gustav Klimt. Tip: The museum's panorama windows offer a wonderful view of central Vienna with Maria Theresa Square and the Hofburg Palace.

A great collection of European art from 19th and 20th century. Nice modern setting in the old city center.

Very good museum in vienna, you can see here paintings of gustav klimt, schiele egon, oskar kokoschka and many more.
The fee is 12 EUR but you can buy a combined ticket of 2 museums at about 22 EUR.
Very good museum to be at.

“Well worthwhile, great job of displaying native artists and engaging layout”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

I have to admit that I went here right after Kunthaus, which I didn't particularly enjoy, so it's possible I took more away from this given the preceding experience. But I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits here. The Leopold did an amazing job featuring two Austrian painters and provided great background on their careers and progression. The exhibits were set up sequentially and covered the phases of their technique. The guide also covered background on the collector and his passion in collecting. There were also smaller exhibits throughout. The collection was just the right size, and you were able to make your way through the museum without feeling like you were simply seeing the same art in repetition. You only need about 2 hours and it's part of the museum quarter so it it's not your cup of tea, there's a lot of other options immediately nearby.

“Small But Good For Schiele And Klimt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

The Leopold is famous for its Egon Schiele paintings and does have a very good collection of these although those in the Belvedere are very good too. There are also several Gustav Klimt paintings and Klimt’s Death and Life was for us the highlight of this small museum.

Unlike the Belvedere, the use of cameras is permitted and the Leopold also has a small café which we found to be reasonably price and offering tasty food.
