A wonderful collection of Schiele and Klimt, along with less well known artists like Richard Gerstl and Oskar Kokoschka, a nice selection of bars in the plaza outside the museum, if you like your art to be more modern in style then this is not to be missed.

This museum houses the largest collection of Schiele anywhere in the world! It also has other contemporaries including Klimt. It is not to be missed!

Beutiful paintings from Schiele, Klimt but also from lots of remarkable other painters, mainly Austrian so that you can get a spherical idea about the Viennese artists. Situated within the museum quartier.

We enjoyed the journey more than the destination in this instance - walking through all the gardens and past all the other palaces to the Museum Quarter - quite neck aching!
Good selection of Schiele - they also heavily advertised the Klimt connection, but it did turn out to be quite poor.
The plaza in front is bordered with good choice of bars for snack and rehydration - there was also a piano being played in public which gave the whole area the bohemian feel it striving for.
Clean cool modern building in the modern art gallery mode.
Ground floor exhibition not to our taste - Damien Hirst wannabe that said more about the artist mental state than ability....

Excellent collection of largely Austrian art, including works by Klimt and Schiele. The Schiele collection is particulary impressive though there is much else to admire. The building itself is spacious and well laid out and certainly one of the better galleries we've visited on our travels. Recommended.
