“A surprise in Vienna”
Reviewed 10 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

On first appearances from street level this apartment didn't have much going for it.

However once inside it was a very good choice for our stay.

Large bedrooms, a good size kitchen.

It is in a good neighbourhood just across the bridge from the major tourist area of Vienna.

There is a reasonable sized supermarket three minutes by foot from the apartment.

A couple of minor issues, the shower drain appears to be blocked, limiting showers to about three minutes before it overflows.

The freezer wasn't turned on and we couldn't get it to work during our stay and you can't wear your shoes in the apartment.

“Perfect location”
Reviewed 14 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The location couldn't be better. It takes about two to three minutes to cross the river to get to the tram and U-Bahn station, about 10 minutes to walk to Stephansdom and probably 30 minutes total to get just about anywhere in the first district utilizing the metro system. The apartment is close to the Karmelitre Markt if you enjoy purchasing local groceries, and there's a supermarket right around the corner. The Aldi's (called Hofer there) is just a little further away. There are also typical Viennese coffeehouses nearby. I highly recommend walking around the canal as well - you'll find some amazing street art.

The apartment was very clean and well-appointed. Even though I was on my own, I chose to sleep in the room with the bunk beds due to a screaming baby on the other side of the wall of the room with the double bed (not that there's anything the owner could do about that - but it might be a consideration if you expect to sleep in both rooms and that bothers you). The kitchen suited my needs - I did do quite a bit of cooking and didn't find that anything was particularly lacking. I found all of the furniture to be clean and comfortable. The washer had some instructions (although I still had to look up some things on the internet, such as where to put the detergent - left compartment, by the way), but the coffeemaker required some research (I couldn't find any instructions in the English section of the book provided). Directions on how to dispose of trash is also provided. The internet is open-access. The connection for the Wi-Fi is excellent, and I had no difficulties. I felt extremely safe both in the apartment and in the area.

The listing includes "soap/shampoo," but the only soap that was provided was some hand soap and there was no shampoo. I was told that "everybody prefers another shampoo" and that there should have been soap in the bathroom. I was given some compensation for this, but because shampoo is still being listed as provided, I feel the need to let people know that it should not be expected.

All said and done, I would definitely stay here again.

Thanks! The "thing" with the shampoo is not my fault, because the german version of tripadvisor is listening none. But the canadian version do.... :-( .... so I am sorry about this "mistake of translation". But the guest has not mentioned that she was invated for the coffee capsules.

“Fantastic location”
Reviewed 29 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed at this apartment for 3 nights in August 2016, a family of 5.
The apartment is situated just across the river right in downtown, walking distance to most tourist attractions. The subway station is also about 200 meters away. Excellent for bigger families, lots of room for everything. The apartment itself is beautiful and well equipped with everything a traveler might need.
Parking is limited but Park&Ride parking is only a few subway stops away.
Lots of restaurants and eateries around.
Grocery store is also nearby.
Highly recommended.

Just cross a bridge and you are in the city centre. Less than 10 minutes to the Stefansdom on foot. Plenty of restaurants, shops, supermarkets nearby. Near public transport if you don't fancy walking or want to travel further.

“Great Location”

The apartment is in a very good location, close to supermarkets and attractions, and you literally just walk across the bridge and you are in the city centre.
The owner was very pleasant and helpful. He met us at the apartment on arrival and ran through all the appliances to ensure we knew how they worked. When we had questions, he was very easy to contact and replied quickly.
The apartment was spacious, with plenty of room to accommodate the four of us, and the beds were very comfortable. The whole apartment was clean and tidy.
The apartment was extremely easy to get to from the airport using the airport bus, which dropped us off and picked up just across the river Danube, a short 5 minute walk.
The supermarket is only a few minutes walk around the corner, which we found very useful on our first day.
The whole experience was fantastic, getting lost in Vienna the first night was the highlight, not that Vienna is a large city.
Most attractions are with in walking distance. The palace was a short train trip and worth a visit (again, you only have to cross the river to get to the train station). We didn’t use the hop on and off bus.
The owner made sure there were lots of brochures and a map of Vienna.
Visiting in the winter meant that coming back to a warm and comfortable apartment was a pleasure.
The apartment complex is quite old with an amazingly small elevator, and there are times when you will hear the neighbours, but this is really part of the experience of living like an Austrian, rather than staying in a characterless hotel. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

“Great location and comfortable apartment”
Reviewed 29 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed for a few days and the location is almost unbeatable. The flat is located on the river, so there is easy access to boat trips on the Danube and to Bratislava. Also over the river, access to two tube lines and the trams. It is walking distance to St. Stephen's Cathedral and the main shopping area too.
The host was helpful - he spoke very good English and key pick up time was moved to suit us.
Would recommend.
Note that the flat doesn't have a view of the river despite being very close. It is located across a courtyard behind the buildings facing the river. There is a lift in the apartment block and the flat was equip with all utensils, towels, spare bulbs etc.....that you would need. We had a very nice stay here, the flat was warm and comfortable.

“Great location”
Reviewed 1 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This place is located on the bank of Danube channel: across is a major subway hub and few minute walk from the Stephanskirche, Kartner Strasse and Graben. The apartment is well maintained that includes a well-equipped small kitchen and two bedroom. Be aware, though, that one bedroom has a bunk bed that may not fit comfortably to a taller person. The living room features a big screen TV (viewers with English language preference BBC and CNN International are available) and an audio system. There is no A/C but WiFi.
