“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

It was my first visit at Vienna and we chose the Hilton as my husband had been there before.our room was clean and spacious, room service was excellent as well as the breakfast area and employees,They all were very helpful.they served a large variety of everything, fresh and delicious.one thing i didnt like was seeing the cleaning lady, cleaning the bathroom with the towels!I know they sterilize but still not a good thing to witness in a hotel like this one!
But i would love to stay there again(hopefuly this "bug" will be fixed).

Staff is very friendly and attentive. Rooms are big enough and in perfect condition. Breakfast is rich, and i think it's in line with ***** level. One time i had an evening dinner in the hotel restaurant. The meal was perfect, the local wine was good too, there were only a few visitors in the big restaurant in the evening, and it was a pleasure to seat in it for a long time, that is why i placed the title from the short story by Hemingway.
I had a conference in the nearest Messe exhibition hall, and i was glad to stay in the hotel.

Location is quite special and it is far from the city center.
Taxi to the centre costs about 20Euro. Another option is to go to the subway station (not so close to the hotel), but in case of cold wind and rain this is not so attractive walking.
To Vienna Messe exhibition area taxi is 7Euro only.
So, i think, location is fine, if you have a business deal near the Messe exhibition area, travel by car, or don't like to stay near city center..

Some drawbacks are:
1. It's a strange fact, that in such a big hotel the lobby area almost doesn't exist. There is the small space near the reception desk where everything is concentrated at once: people waiting for check/in/out with their luggage, people going out and incoming, waiting for a taxi, etc. At mornings this makes the atmosphere not so calm....
2. The sound absorbtion of the doors in rooms is around zero. So if somebody is speaking in a corridor, the impression is like he is speaking in a room.

Anyway the staying was good and memorable, it is recommended as a good option!

Room Tip: The riverside view is very recommended in comparison with the city view (i.e. to the motorway and th...

The service at this hotel is top quality. From the front desk providing us a map & sightseeing options to the restaurant & bar staff fulfilling our culinary requests, our experience was a delight on the Danube. I highly recommend this hotel for its service, ambiance, luxury, & location!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and in-laws. Generous room size, clean and well equipped. Try and get breakfast included if you can, great selection. The bar is expensive but you're in a major city! Staff all spoke English (very well) and were really helpful. It is located out of town but don't be put off. The U bahn is 5 minutes away. We purchased a 72hr travel card for €15 - well worth it to get round town. We all agreed it was a good hotel and would stay there again if we visited Vienna.

Stayed for two nights on our first trip to Vienna. We chose this hotel on the basis of Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. We didn't have a river view but didn't mind as we got a great deal on the room price. Yes, the room overlooked a road and rail line (couldn't hear either), and a large apartment block 200 metres away, but this is hardly surprising given a city location. Negative comments about the location are amusing, since the hotel doesn't make any secret of its location, and if you want to be in the city centre, then stay in a hotel located there! The clean, modern, efficient U bahn is five minutes easy walk away, and trains to the city centre run every few minutes, the journey taking 10 - 15 minutes.
The room was spacious, clean, and well appointed, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the welcome and help at the front desk perfect. We found Vienna itself delightful, and intend to return at the same time next year, and we will definitely return to this hotel.

If you are facing the danube then you will have a nice stay. If you are facing the otherside then it may be a nightmare (train, big road and no view.
Good breakfast
people nice.
expensive car park. this should be free.
room ok and large enough.

Room Tip: danube view ONLY

I had a superb room, very comfortable and overlooking the river. The cleaning could have been more thorough - see attached photo of spider's web showing how frequently the room is dusted. The fitness and relaxation facilities are good, with both indoor and outdoor pools. The staff are not particularly friendly, even a bit dozy - when I visited the bar it was quite busy and only one girl serving, and she had only one speed: slow, with no multitasking.
Apart from its great view over the Danube the hotel is not really well located for anything. Everything is a taxi ride away, even the nearest public transportation is quite some walk. If you really want to experience the city it would be better to save on taxi fares and use the saving to fund a more expensive room in a downtown hotel.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a river view.
