I've stayed at numerous hotels and pensions in Vienna over the years, and this was among the least nice ones. The location is great, close to Schwedenplatz, so that's a big plus. However, the hotel itself is strange: it occupies the 2nd and 3rd floors of an office building, and because it's so small, breakfast is literally served in the hotel lobby on the second floor. Those who sleep lightly should avoid rooms on the second floor as they will be disturbed by breakfast being served in the lobby. Breakfast itself was plentiful, but some of the food items were definitely a little off (the same fruit salad seemed to be served day after day, and the same goes for the smoked salmon, at least judging from the smell). Staff was not very friendly, although I do give them credit for upgrading me to a bigger and much nicer room on the third floor after I complained about my tiny and uncomfortable room on the second floor. The superior rooms have old Viennese charm, with rugs and wooden furniture and upgraded bathrooms, but the standard single room was extremely small and the bathroom was outdated (stay away from room no 24).
To sum up: there are many nicer hotels for the same price in Vienna, but if you decide to stay at this hotel, make sure to get a superior-size room and make sure it's on the third floor.More
