“It was a good experience”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

it was a small and old fashion hotel, but clean. The location was fabulous, just 5 min walking to the best part of city. also the breakfast was so delicious. The only problem was the room service, they didn't have normal water, toothpaste, and what ever you want, you must go to reception by your own. totally it was a good hotel and for sure I will recommend it

We stayed five nights on holidays. The location was convenient, and the staff and manager could not have done more to make our stay better.

Rooms were very clean, comfortable, well appointed. Breakfast was great.

They had a recital first night we stayed, which we couldn't attend...I suggest guests ask about this when they book.

We would not consider staying anywhere else when next we visit Vienna.

While not quite within Vienna's ring road, it is situated right next to the Naschmarkt and still within easy walking distance of most of Vienna's superb attractions.
Reception was professional and courteous, however, did not venture an opinion when I asked for a personal recommendation of museums to visit (though she might not have understood my query).
A lift whisked us to our very uniquely decorated room, which (against all odds) we loved - particularly the glittering gold multi-directional shower! Double bed was very comfortable and the room cosy.
We enjoyed the lounge room on the first level, complete with piano, where one could relax and read the paper while having a cup of complimentary coffee or nibble n titbits; very Club-like and welcome after a full day of sightseeing!
Reception kindly stored our luggage after check-out prior to our departure for the airport.
A very enjoyable stay.

We stayed for six nights at the Hotel Beethoven in May 2013. We had a good-sized room with comfortable beds and everything was very clean. The breakfast was a generous buffet, with lots of choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location is great - it is only steps away from the Naschmarkt, and most of the museums, shopping, Kaerntner Strasse and the Musikverein are all within walking distance. The Karlsplatz subway station is only two blocks away and it is very easy to get to MAK, Schonbrun, the Prater or the Volksoper by subway. We would definitely stay here again.

2 nights in the Beethoven in June '13 - location is excellent (50m from the Secessionist building, 10m from a wide range of restaurants in the Naschmarkt, 200m from the U-bahn).

Comfortable room with good aircon and free wi-fi, great breakfasts and extremely helpful English-speaking staff. Bathroom is compact but of high quality. Highly recommended for couples and business travellers.

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Beethoven and had an excellent stay. The hotel is in a great location, within easy walking distance to the main attractions including the Opera, Secession, Albertina, Museums Quartier and minutes only from the Naschmarkt where you can eat well. There are also great local restaurants and boutique shops across the road from the Naschmarkt in Schleifmuhlgasse and also in nearby Gumpendorfer Strasse. The staff were always helpful, the room was quiet, the wifi reliable, the breakfast good and the rooms comfortable although the pillows weren't great! The hotel can also organise an airport transfer for the same price as a taxi and often have classical performances in the hotel free of charge for guests. Be sure to visit the Gottfried Helnwein exhibition at the Albertina if you visit before October 2013.

We just returned from a 10-day vacation in Vienna at the Hotel Beethoven. The hotel met all our expectations and we enjoyed our stay in Vienna very much. First of all the location: the hotel is in walking distance of many attractions, including the Opera House, the Theater an der Wien (right across the street!), the Musikverein, the Secession building, the Hofburg, to name only a few. For attractions that are not so near, there is an underground station very close by and also many trams. The hotel itself is elegant but comfortable, not overwhelming, which is something we like. Our room on the second floor was the corner room with an alcove, which was very comfortable, spacious and bright during the daytime. At night we could have used some more light, though. The room and bathroom were very clean and had all the amenities, including bathrobes and slippers, a minibar and fridge, coffee-tea making machine, TV and Wifi that worked perfectly. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all our questions, and gave good advice when we asked for directions. The large container of fresh apples in the lobby is a nice touch; we always grabbed a couple of apples on our way out. There is also free coffee and tea available in the lounge all day long - another nice touch. Breakfast was great: the breakfast room itself is very comfortable, and some tables are also set up in the "piano lounge" area with a view of the Theater an der Wien, and on nice days there is also an outdoor seating area available which is very pleasant. There is a great variety of food at the breakfast buffet, and something for every taste: cooked food, cold cuts, different kinds of bread and pastry, fruits and cereals, and many different kinds of tea and coffee.
Back to the room: even though we had the corner room facing the street, we had no trouble with street noise, thanks to the very good double-glazed windows. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which we used on the one day when it was very warm, and it worked very well.
The manager of the hotel is very interested in the Arts, and hosts chamber music concerts in the lounge on Sunday afternoons, which are free for guests of the hotel. We went to 2 of these concerts and enjoyed them very much.
All in all we had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Beethoven and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Our corner room with the alcove on the second floor was lovely.
