I was more than skeptical when a fan of the movie used some of our precious few hours in Vienna to see this museum. I had no personal experience with the movie, nor do I consider myself a film buff. But we all crave the unexpectedly authentic and uniquely local when we travel, and this museum satisfied that craving for our trip. Start with sheer admiration for the breadth and depth of the collection. Be drawn into the critical period in Vienna's nay Europe's history when the movie was filmed. Add an encounter with the lunatic collector and founder (introduce yourself to Gerhard, he is awesome) and you you can't beat the memories you'll take.
