Hotel Am Stephansplatz was an ideal choice for our 3 days in Vienna. It is incredibly well-located (literally at the top of the escalator as you come out of the subway/U-bahn). It's directly across from the cathedral and is within easy walking distance of a number of dining, shopping and sightseeing options along a nice, incredibly clean cobblestone/paver street. We felt very comfortable walking around at night.

Our hotel room was very clean. The decor was minimal, but we were there to see the city and didn't intend to spend much time in our room. We had a room looking out over the cathedral and perching on the window ledge and people watching were a great way to start the day. The windows did an incredible job of blocking out the street noise.

Breakfast was nice, and the hotel and restaurant staff were helpful and friendly.

Loved everything about this hotel. Quick check in,porter took bags to room and showed how things operated.Best possible location right next to underground ,yet no noise.Room comfortable, bathroom enormous. One little niggle-even though it was minus 7 outside the room was too hot so we had to open window for some cool air.
Breakfast was perfect,great selection

We were greeted with the best welcome anyone could ask for. Friendly service and a lovely smile. We were shown our beautiful room by a friendly staff member and he showed us how everything in our room worked. The room was spotless everything about it was fabulous. A complimentary piece of local chocolate and mineral water was in the room. We were there over Christmas and it was nice that the floor in the bathroom was always heated, after a long cold walk it was nice to take shoes off and warm up the toes. Truly special. The room was well heated, windows could be opened if fresh air was needed. We had the view of the dom (pay extra worth the cost) and the well insulated windows kept the noise from the bells out the room. Breakfast was everyday well stocked and a variety of food. Delicious. The location speaks for it self, the best! I would like to thank the lady who cleaned our room daily. So friendly and did a fabulous job. Thanks for the odd sweet on our pillow. Oh free Internet was a bonus. One of my favourite hotels by far!!!

My husband and I chose to stay here for New Years Eve to take advantage of the unbelievable location directly opposite the beautiful Saint Stephan's Cathedral. We had a bird's eye view of the swirling merrymakers below and the fireworks all around us. This hotel is located at literally the very heart of Vienna, and it doesn't have to be New Years for the prime location to make all the difference to hotel guests: the corner of Vienna's two most famous pedestrian streets, Kärntner Straße and Graben, with phenomenal dining, people-watching and shopping right outside your door!

The room itself was spacious, sparkling clean, decorated in a modern style with a lot of flair. The staff was friendly, responsive and resourceful, very concerned with making our stay a pleasant and memorable one. And I have to say that the view of the cathedral made this the most special hotel room we've ever experienced.

There is an excellent restaurant with a view of the cathedral and the square in front of it, as well as an atmospheric, welcoming bar and, although we did not use it this time, a spa. Could not recommend anything more highly than Hotel Am Stephansplatz. Try to get a room with a cathedral view; best are the top-floor terrace rooms, which are extraordinary!

We stayed for a romantic weekend at this hotel right before Christmas. Aside from its ideal location, just 2 minutes away from the CAT stop in the city centre (by metro), and literally across the street from Stephansdom, it is an experience in itself. The staff is more than polite, the rooms are flawless, with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, everything is so clean. We tried the hotel restaurant and it was wonderful as well, not at all pricey. What is more, you can see through the large windows the Stephansdom and the square, all the tourists, the mimes, etc., which we found just lovely.

I would definitely come back here on our next trip, maybe in the springtime or summer, because we froze a little bit on the streets of Vienna. All in all, highly recommended :)

It was excellent. Great location facing the Dom. We had a superior room overlooking the platz which was spacious. Contemporary furnishings. Beds & bedding very comfortable. Good furniture. Clean. Heating & aircon all worked. Good 21” LCD TV. Shower very good. Excellent breakfast buffet in restaurant/bar on 1st floor overlooking square & Dom. A pity the Dom was being cleaned so partly covered up. Also a pity noisy revellers outside disturbed our sleep in the early hours despite the double glazing. Powered Venetian blinds were not pointed out to us so were woken by the light on our first morning. Sauna & fitness suite excellent. Staff were very friendly & helpful. We would be happy to stay here again.
