I was there on a business trip in June; the hotel has a nice location in a quiet stree very close to the Rathaus. The hotel is very simple, no frills at all. Front desk closes around 10pm and one needs his room key to enter the hotel! I had a superior room facing in the internal courtyard, it was okay but not in a very good shape even though refurbished recently. No airconditioning! Breakfast was very basic. Nespresso was available at 1.50 Euro extra! The hotel has free wireless access that worked intermittently; the first night was very slow, but the second night was fine. In summary, I am not sure it is a good deal for Vienna. My room was 85 Euro per night.

I have stayed in Graf Stadion hotel only for one night. Hotel is very well located, near metro station and within walking distance from popular Mariahilfer street and some of the Vienna's attractions as well.

Hotel staff is friendly and infomative but the reception is open only until 22-23. After that reception and hotel close but you can open a front door with a room key.

Rooms are small, dorm like, but clean. Bathroom as well. Minus is the absence of air condition but I'm not sure if that is the case in all of rooms.

Elevator is awsome old school one, built in 1913! But it works perfectly and gives you the feeling of classical hotel.

Overall, the hotel is a bit pricey for what it offers but good location compensates it a bit.

This is quiet little hotel with small rooms and very friendly service. The neighborhood has several good restraunts within walking distance. The main museums and palaces are all within walking distance. They service a nice cold breakfast each morning.

I stayed at Hotel Graf Stadion in March 2012 for a few days. I chose the hotel because of the location and the price. It was the most affordable place close to the Ring.
This is the most honest 3 star I have stayed at so far. I have rather positive impression about it.
The room was clean and quiet. The hotel is located on a pretty quiet street, so the sleep quality is good.
In March the heating was already off. At first I thought it would be cold in the room. However due to very warm weather in Vienna in March the temperature in the room was ok. The rooms however do not have any air conditioning. Therefore if it gets cold you would need to ask the hotel staff to turn the heating on.
The room was really small and ascetic (in terms of furniture). So if you have no expectation re the interior and plan to be out the entire day this hotel should be good for you. The hotel also has bigger rooms (but those are for 3 guests in a room).
The breakfast was good and tasty. Even though there was not much of a variety, you would not leave with an empty stomach. And their coffee was also very good (for my liking). It did not have funny stale taste as in most hotels, and it was not watery.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
One thing to keep in mind is that there is nobody is in the reception after 10-30 p.m., so you should be carrying your room key with you if you plan to return late (your room key is also the hotel entrance door key).
There was one thing that I hated (but I hate it about all the hotels). If you want to call taxi they would tell you that this is a standard EUR 40 rate to the airport. That's is a lie. All the hotels charge commission from the taxi companies when they call taxi to the airport. If you don’t want to overpay just call taxi yourself. It should be EUR 32-33 from that district.
A very exciting thing about the hotel is their elevator. This is a rather old building and the elevator is the original one. It feels like a time machine :)
It is a very value for the money. And I would probably stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Tripple rooms are mush cpacier than the double rooms

a lovely old hotel in the centre of the city staed for 2 nights in a huge bedroom. Breakfast in the morning was served by a lady in traditional dress which was a nice touch.

The hotel is named after Johann Philipp Graf Stadion who was a statesman and foreign minister.
It was built in the Biedermeier Epoche style in 1824 and is registered as a historic monument: that is why the stay at the Graf Stadion is pleasant and memorable.
According to still existing documents the house is run as a hotel since 1897, so imagine the hundreds and hundreds of guests that passed from here, tried the rooms and dined in its restaurant.
The hotel was renovated throughout the past years. After a modernisation in 1984 followed a complete reorganisation and redecoration during 1999. All rooms, also the reception, lobby and interesting breakfast room have been adjusted to the higher 3 star hotel comfort.
Old, authentic with dimmed lights, small rooms and a 19th century elevator, its a pleasant way of discovering old Vienna at an affordable price.

Reasonably central.
On a side street so quite quiet.
Adjoining main street has supermarkets and other shops.
The (olde worlde) building has a charming wooden lift/elevator with a sofa at the back.

-
The building is tired/worn and has seen better days.
My room's door lock had been disabled from the inside by having had a nail hammered into it. Reception told me that all the hotel's room door locks were like that to stop people from locking themselves out!
Insufficient cupboard space.
Use of the hotel's computer for connection to the internet cost €1 for 15 mins and €2 for 30 mins. There is, allegedly, wifi/WLAN but other guests at the hotel were not able to log-on to it

Room Tip: Ask for a room far from the noisy wood-paneled lift (there are 2 lifts in the building)
