A hotel well placed for the plane flight from Vienna. The rooms are very modern, clean and the sound produced by planes is not heard in rooms.

This is a great hotel if you need to be close to the airport. We had one of the older style rooms, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had been more recently updated. As the hotel food was so expensive, we found that there are plenty of food options in the arrivals hall at the airport (cafes, bakery, McD's). We got a few things at the Billa grocery store on the lower level (open until 10pm) and had a picnic in our room. The staff were not overly friendly, but they were not rude in anyway. There was absolutely no noise from the airplanes, trains or car/bus traffic. I would stay here again but only for a late arrival/early departure as it would get quite expensive taking the CAT in/out of the city center everyday.

I flew into Vienna late at night and needed to be back at the airport the following morning to meet my sister who was flying in on a different flight. The NH Vienna Airport hotel was the perfect place for my nights stay. Located directly outside the arrivals hall of the airport, the location is perfect if you are arriving late like I did, have an early flight in the morning or a long stopover and would like to freshen up with a shower or nap. No need for a taxi, the hotel is not even a 2 minute walk outside the front doors.

My room was sufficient for what I needed, comfy bed, little noise from the airport next door and a base to hang out for the night.

The biggest suprise was the fantastic buffet breakfast. I travel a lot for both work and pleasure and tend to find hotel buffet breakfasts generic and some what boring... never have I enjoyed such a fantastic buffet! You name it, it was there! I would consider staying here again just to enjoy the breakfast.

My sister and I were enjoying a backpacking trip around Austria for a week before she moved to London. She arrived with quite a large amount of luggage which we weren't able to travel with and the hotel was kind enough to let us leave most of her luggage in their storage room for the week to collect when we returned for our flight to London. This was a huge help to us and much appreciated, especially considering I only stayed the 1 night.

Friendly staff, lovely hotel, great breakfast, excellent close proximity to the airport and only a short journey into Vienna on the airport express.

Very convenient for the early arrival and departure flights I had booked, as it is directly opposite the terminals, beyond the taxi ranks. This was the main reason for booking this hotel.
Room was clean and finished in dark laminates and wood on floors and furniture (see photo).
Comfortable bed, though the duvet was bit small and flimsy.
Taxis at the airport did have a habit of prolonged bouts of horn jousting each evening, and this did penetrate the glazing quite easily, but it did not seem to go on into the early hours, thankfully.
I had trouble working out how to redirect water from the bath taps to the shower head but reception quickly despatched someone to help me. For anyone similarly puzzled, you have to pull hard toward you the front section of the mixer tap, just in front of where the water is pouring from. (Maybe I am just stupid!)
Reception was efficient in both check in and check out. The whole hotel was spacious and comfortable in all public rooms, including the breakfast room.
Unfortunately, my deal did not include breakfast here, though it looked a good spread. I do feel it would really need to be, however, to justify a price of 19 euros. There are, of course, options for much, much less in the arrival lounge of the airport opposite, or wait until you get into the city.
Vienna can be reached by fast or slow trains (16 or 30 mins) from the airport. The slow trains are about a third of the price, I believe, or are included if you buy the 72 hour transport pass for 13 euros. The fast airport train service has its own entrance within the airport. It would be charged as a separate fare.
A further advantage in this location is that the bus for Bratislava, should you wish to visit, is also available from the airport, on its way west from Vienna. Having taken 30 minutes to get to the airport from central Vienna, it takes a further 60 minutes to get to Bratislava and costs 13.40 euros return. A train from Vienna to Bratislava takes around 75 minutes but you have to add the journey into Vienna first, of course, so why bother?

  • Liked — Convenience for flights and trips
  • Disliked — High breakfast cost. Impersonal.

Great location for the Airport.
Great location for the train into Vienna (16 Euros for a return trip - the train takes 16 minutes)
Hotel looks a bit uninviting on the outside. The foyer, however, is very nicely done. Very modern and very clean.
The check in staff were efficient but obviously not used to smiling.

The room (we had an Executive Room - booked because another web site said it was the only way to get a decent room) was clean and comfortable.

The bathroom was a good size and they provided the basic toileteries and the basic number of, very small, bath towels.

The bed consisted of two beds pushed together resulting in an uncomforable seam down the middle. The beds were on wheels, obviously so that they could be pushed together or apart easily, which meant that there was always the possibility of them parting and you falling through the middle. There was no top sheet, as mentioned by another traveller, and just two folded up quilts/comforters underneath an over blanket. I wondered if these comforters were changed between occupants but was so tired after a long flight I just went fast asleep.

The AC was not the best, also as mentioned by a previous traveller. It was cold outside but the AC certainly kept you warm. This was OK at first but the AC didn't seem to turn down at all, leaving you over warm.

But the most amazing thing for me about the room was the smell. As soon as we opened the door we were greeted by what I can only describe as a damp and unpleasant. At best it smelled of cheap disinfectant, but also had a lingering public toilet sort of smell. Once we were in the room and got the air circulating with the AC going it subsided a bit. Having been awake for 36 hours I just wanted to sleep.

The restaurant was very good offering a good selection in its buffet. The food was tasty, well presented and there was plenty to choose from. A bottle of local water cost just over 8 Euros, so that was a bit of a surprise.

We tried the bar food - and that was very nice, well presented and cooked to order.

As with all the other travellers - my opinion is that it is an excellent hotel if you are catching a flight.

I stayed there as a result of an Air France strike - so they paid for the night.
It is located just a street-cross away from the terminal, so it's very convenient.
The room was clean and comfortable, the buffet for dinner and breakfast is very rich.
The internet is real expensive, which is a shame.
In general, a good place to stay the night if you are waiting for a flight, and have the $$$ to spare, or if someone else is paying. If you stay there, it is probably not planned.

I spent a night here courtesy of Austrian Airlines (my flight was overbooked and I volunteered to take the next day's flight). They promised it would be a 5-star hotel, while in reality it's more like 4 stars, but it was a solid 4-star one.

My room was spacious, nicely decorated and perfectly clean. Probably one of the renovated ones. Dinner was a large buffet, nothing spectacular but pretty good. Breakfast was the typical German style buffet, very nice. Service was friendly and efficient. Wireless internet for a (hefty) fee (but it's free all around the airport).

No complaints whatsoever, I wouldn't pay $250 a night but for the right price I'd happily return.
