The Savoy has good staff, it is impecably kept and centrally located, even though for the first-time visitor it is hard to find. In fact it is a few steps away from the U3 stop Neubaugasse, but to keep distance short one has to cross the alley signalled for the NH hotel. Else, you have to go around the block.
The staff is very friendly, quite helpful and dedicated to their job. They know well the surrounding area and what it offers. There are also fruits offered in the reception, which is good given the heavy meaty Viennese meals!
There are steps to get to the reception, which is not good if there is heavy luggage. Also the elevator was small, for 1-2 persons (it is the original elevator but refurbished).
The rooms are very spacey and quiet. They are decorated resembling a simplified palace. The shower and toilet were very clean and modern but need improved ventilation. There is free wifi, part of the Freewave network. Therefore, connection is not consistent in all the room.
Breakfast was the same every day, but offered choices to make it varied, such as cold cuts or cereals. Bread is served abundantly and there are flyers with tips for tourist activities (which were changed every day).
In conclusion, despite the physical limitations such as the elevator, it is a very good hotel providing a high standard for its category and price.
