The property is simply gorgous. From the lobby to the club across the small street, I felt it was a first class location. Certainly it helps to be a Marriott Gold member. The internet is free as well as the breakfast in the club. I agree with the other reviewers that would lower my rating if I had to pay for a cable internet connection and an overpriced breakfast.

Still, with that said, the location is easy to find. I took the train from the airport and had no problems finding it. I also took the streetcar for a short ride to the downtown area, which was a fast and easy way to see the city. The hotel staff was also very friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants and things to do for the two days I was in town. I appreciated their help and the suggestions were spot-on..

Paying extra for internet in these days is like asking to pay extra for running water. Even if you pay you have to hook up through a CABLE. Indeed a CABLE. So no WIFI in the room and if you only have an iPad no connection. Next time I will bring my fax machine. What a shame.

Decent enough hotel in terms of size of rooms and location was some 15 mins brisk walk from centre. But 28 euros for breakfast - despite very nice staff - and no tea/coffee in rooms at euro 160 is a bit poor. Try the decent restaurant opposite - the mushrooms are grown on the premises and lively. But what is very disappointing in 2013 is that these huge hotel chains still want to charge for wifi at 23 cents a minute - 3.95 for 30 mins etc -very poor.

My wife had a two week business trip in Vienna and we decided to join her for a few days. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. My wife tried to use the concierge service to book a car to pick us up. Their response was "take the train. It's faster and cheaper.". Yes, it would have been cheaper, but it would have been a bout a 10 minute walk with luggage.

The hotel is close, but not real close to the center of Vienna where as a tourist you will probably spend most of your time. Expect to take about 15 minutes of walking time to get there. Not the most convenient location, but not horrible either.

We had a room in the new wing of the hotel, the ugly blue building across from the reception area. The room we had was quite spacious with two beds a sitting area and a large bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, unlike other European hotels I have stayed at this one had a shower door that covered the entire shower area so that you didn't end up with a huge puddle on the floor. The other noticeably nice feature was that the hot water was instantaneous and consistent. You set the temp once and it stayed there even when someone else was using the sink.

The two beds in the room were an odd, for an American, size. They were bigger than a twin but smaller than a full size. At the foot of the bed they have a bench with drawers. But the drawers were really shallow, about 5 inches, and not very deep. Luckily by the closet at the entrance they have shelves that can accommodate lots of clothes. They also had plenty of hangers, real ones too not the kind some places use to keep you from taking them. The closet also had a place for an iron and ironing board, but non was there. Seemed a bit odd.

If you are a Marriot gold level, or higher member you get access to the lounge with freebie food and beverages. This can save you lots of money as stuff in Vienna is not cheap. We usually had breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, in the lounge. In the evenings they have a rotating menu of various hot foods. You can also get beer, wine and champagne in the lounge. There was also plenty of non-alcoholic beverages.

We used room service on two occasions. Both times they got the order wrong and had to return to bring us missing items. The food was good, but as would be expected, kind of pricey.

Hotel advertises wifi, but the service was pretty bad. They usually charge 13 euros a day, which is a complete ripoff. The signal in our room was never that strong and download speeds were slow. Also, if you log in in your room and then go to another area of the hotel, you won't be able to log in in the new area unless you log out first and then log back in. Had we been paying extra for the service, I would have been really upset and asked to get a refund.

They supposedly have a nice pool and gym, but since our stay was short we did not get to use it.

If I was going back to Vienna, I would probably not stay here. I'm not sure how much the room cost, but I am sure it was not cheap and for the price I would prefer to be closer to the center of town.

Room Tip: Get a room in the new wing of the hotel. The rooms are newer and bigger.

Outside is great, common parts are nice, breakfast very good, but the rooms a big disappointment. Small, old bathroom, low ceiling, window very high to see well outside, the archived maybe wanted to play a joke. So overall mixed feelings, and first rooms need to be renovated. Area is a little bit far from center. Staff is just polite, and it was a fight to find a table for breakfast.

Room Tip: Maybe not in the main building but on the one which is facing the main entrance.
