“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

Very nice hotel. Extremely good staff. Professional and respond quickly and in friendly manner. Better to go for the more expensive room. It's worth it. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are huge. This also gives you access to the executive lounge. Complementary food and refreshments flow here all day and we really enjoyed relaxing there before we began our day and it was a nice place to sit and talk with a glass of wine in the evening. The interior of the hotel is very cool and tastefully done. Only a short walk to everything. Really good experience. Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Go for more expensive room to access the executive lounge.

We stayed for one week here in central Vienna. While it's not at the Stephansplatz it is in a fine location near the Belvedere Palace in a core part of the city. The S-Bahn is just beside the hotel so I thought it was a great location. The lobby part of the hotel is in an the older 19th century "Riding School" section of the complex. This building complements the Russian Church next door. The rooms in the hotel are mostly in a long 7 story wing built in the 1990's as the "Penta Hotel"; this wing is behind the "Riding School" plus there are other rooms in the Imperial Club across the courtyard. We had a club room in the main wing which gave us access to the Imperial Club lounge. I would definitely recommend this upgrade as it provides you with a full breakfast buffet, fee internet, free in room minibar(soft drinks, beer only), as well as snacks and beverages in the imperial club all day. It's not the Ritz Carlton but very nice with recently renovated rooms. There is an indoor pool alongside a nice outdoor garden where you can order drinks and snacks. There is a full fitness center. The staff are generally very friendly and helpful. I like to feel that I am getting a good or fair value in a hotel and I had that feeling here with the club level package. I definitely recommend this location to like minded travelers.

Room Tip: Request the junior suite in the club level. It's not really a suite but a very big room.

Green Features: Marriott in general tries to be green. They apply their standard practices here as well.

I will be honest, I am a Marriott fan and so I was glad to stay in this hotel in Vienna. You know what to expect.

Nice room, they tried to create a Vienna atmospfere, I prefer white walls. Excellent beds and ask for the quiet site of the hotel. Good and very helpfull reception. So is okay to stay here, no surprises....

Good area and take tram 71 to the center (only 5 stops) and you are at the Opera House in the center.
If you leave the hotel, on the left there's a little tabacoshop where you can buy a day ticket (costs 6.10 euro) and you can travel by public transport (metro, tram, train) in Vienna.

Room Tip: Ask for the quiet side of the hotel....

The hotel is beautiful and on a historic location, very good snacks and decent wine at the comfortable and spacious lounge. Walking distance to the Belvedere palace and there is a tram stop close by to go to the Opera house. Staff is very courteous.

We spent 3 nights and did a crew change here. It's a very nice hotel with great rooms and staff. It wasn't the least expensive but that doesn't mean it was not a bargain. Good food and a lobby lounge that seemed to be always serving complimentary food and drinks. Outstanding staff, good wifi and well appointed rooms in a good location. Hard to beat.
