The rooms in the hotel were clean and basic with wireless access. If going to a conference or a meeting at the University, it would be okay as it is reasonably priced and within walking distance to the university and to restaurants. But, the hotel is not in the city center so if you want to be in the heart of Vienna, select another. The breakfast is acceptable although the quality of the coffee and hot chocolate was disappointing. Skip the restaurant otherwise.
Also, if you tend to book far in advance and are not sure about the number of nights you will actually stay, use caution as the hotel management has no willingness to reduce the number of nights that you have booked even if one of their staff members told you verbally it could be done. With this hotel, get everything in writing!

I stayed here for a work trip in early Feb. I'd originally booked into Hotel Pension Bleckmann which is their sister hotel and on arrival there got told I had been transferred to Hotel Boltzmann. It's about a twenty minute walk to central Vienna. The room was clean and comfortable, and the free wifi was very useful as I needed to keep up to date with work emails etc. I ate in the bar on the first night and the food was pretty basic but reasonably priced and good for something quick when you're hungry after travelling. There are some good traditional restuarants nearby in the square by the Underground station (Schottentor). If you don't want to walk the underground is about a five to ten minute walk away and it's easy to use, you can connect to the City Airport Train via it which is fequent and efficient.
Breakfast was pretty good with a wide choice of items and good coffee.
Overall I'd say this hotel is very good value for central Vienna and has everything you need. my colleagues were staying in a more central hotel that was well over twice the price. It's not luxurious but then you're unlikely to be spending lots of time in the room if you're away for work or on a city break.

Very standard hotel that offers nothing special. Too expensive. Worked fine for me as the location was very close to the Uni I visited. Would not recommend for tourists but worked just fine for a shorter business trip.

friendly staff at the hotel, the rest is average in every aspect. the rooms were equiped with the amenities of need without any big focus on apperence or experience. the breakfast just normal without thrils. overall just normal without any thrills and that kind of hotel you actually can not remember to have stayed in a very quickly period of time...slightly far walk to the city center - but resonable pricing...

Average to a fault. That’s about all I can say regarding the Boltzmann. It was in a nestled-away area, so it was quiet, but also took some trekking to reach and leave. It was part of a packaged tour, so I don’t know what the operator paid, but I wouldn’t be prepared to stay again without some massive discount. The room was small, the carpeting aged, the coils in the mattresses were noticeable upon movement, and the bathroom could have used some immense amount of scouring. The breakfast was non-descript and dull. All in all, nothing about which to crow.
