More like a 3 rather than a 4 star hotel, as it needs renovation. Ok overall, room is generally spacious and clean and breakfast is good. Main reason I chose it was because of the free fast internet in all rooms.
Hotel is near the university in a quiet and safe area. There are not however many facilities in the area and In order to get to the center you either have to use the tram (which as a tourist you might not be so comfortable in doing) or the metro station which is about 15min by foot. I would say that unless you have a reason to stay in the area, it’s better to find an alternative hotel closer to the center or a metro station.
My room was facing a surrounding building and there was usually some noise. There is only 1 small elevator for 7 floors so there is always a 3-5min waiting time and if you are planning to have a late checkout after 4pm they are going to charge you with the full daily cost of the room!

walls here are paper thin. I was kept up all night be the residents in the next room and the front desk staff were not sympathetic and unable/unwilling to move me to another room. Beds are uncomfortable and the deco very outdated. Much too expensive for what it is.

Been coming here for a few years. Stayed one night recently in a refurbed twin room (109) paying €90 r/o, room had lovely modern massive square shower but very little water pressure and luke warm water, sadly.
Didn't have breakfast as I was leaving too early for a flight and it wasn't possible to do anything before 7am. I was given a 20% bar discount voucher as I had booked direct and not through a booking site but I didn't use as the bar was empty when I arrived so I went out. Didn't sleep too well but that was the noisy neighbours sh@gging and then showering into the wee small hours rather than the beds: mine was fine, though a bit low. Might look elsewhere next time. I love the area and there are loads of bars and Beis'ln in the 9th, about 5 mins walk away.

1. This is a hotel doesn't think about it's customers.
2. Rooms are cramped.
3. Uncomfortable beds (mattresses with noticeable springs) and dingy, dirty carpets and bedding. 4. The shower is minuscule.
5. Unfriendly staff.
6. Extremely LOUD housekeeping at 8 AM. Trying to rest? Forget it.

Stayed one night. Would never have a reason to go back. There is a much better hotel that is similarly priced for budget travelers within in walking distance.

Room Tip: Road noise on street facing rooms.

The rooms in the hotel were clean and basic with wireless access. If going to a conference or a meeting at the University, it would be okay as it is reasonably priced and within walking distance to the university and to restaurants. But, the hotel is not in the city center so if you want to be in the heart of Vienna, select another. The breakfast is acceptable although the quality of the coffee and hot chocolate was disappointing. Skip the restaurant otherwise.
Also, if you tend to book far in advance and are not sure about the number of nights you will actually stay, use caution as the hotel management has no willingness to reduce the number of nights that you have booked even if one of their staff members told you verbally it could be done. With this hotel, get everything in writing!
