The hotel is fantastically situated in the centre, just around the corner from the Parliament Building and Rathaus. The room was nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and a very clean (if slightly tired-looking bathroom).
Our major problem was with the air-conditioning, as the room was unbearably hot at night, yet perfectly cool during the day (it was around 26°c outside during our stay). On our second night, we discovered that the air-conditioning inexplicably began puffing out warm air at around 11pm until early in the morning. The hotel was very prompt in sending maintenance to look at it, but although it was slightly improved after this, it was really still too hot to have a good night's sleep. I'm not sure whether this is something the hotel controls or whether the system is just out-dated, but I was disappointed with this aspect of the hotel, and the resulting tiredness definitely tarnished our experience of Vienna a little. Having said this, the hotel would be extremely cosy during the winter, and I would definitely stay again at a different time of year!More
