“Good central hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014

I spent 10 days in this hotel while in Vienna for work purposes. It was really affordable and perfect distance from work, also from city center if you want to visit the many attractions found in Vienna. I had an apartment near the hotel even though I paid for a single room. The apartment was spacious, clean and everything that you need, even a dishwasher and microwave. Breakfast was good even though some items were missing such as sausage or some other hot items, but over all it was good. Room was clean, and no single black stains on the bathroom.

The hotel itself is more than afequate, clean and roomy, warm, European style buffet breakfast (15 Euros for RCI members) but the best feature is it's proximity to major attractions either walking or taking underground. Located in the historic Servitenviertel district, there is access to great restaurants, shops, museums and a short walk to U2 for a connection to Prater amusement park.

We stayed one week at this hotel. Good size room. Beds are extremely comfortable. Staff is helpful. Very close to the U line and only about a 20 minute walk to sites. The room wasn't cleaned the entire week we were there. The bathroom and the floors got a bit dirty. We had to ask for clean towels. However when we asked for help from the staff they were extremely accommodating. The WiFi was not free. Even had to pay in the lobby. This seemed subpar.
Overall a very good hotel for the price.

We stayed here for one week. We found the staff to be helpful, the rooms are clean, big enough ( I had read that some rooms in vienna are small) and really quite cute. The bed was comfortable and it was not noisy to sleep. The breakfast was really good, it had a lot of variety although some of the things were unusual to us which was actually just fine as it was fun to try new things, there were hot scrambled eggs every day as well as fruit, breads, cold meats, flat breads, spreads, cheese, juice, cereals, yogurt , well you get the idea. Also breakfast is served from 6:45 to 10:30 which is great as we are not particularly early risers but it got us out and about in good time. Its a 2 minute walk to the subway/U bahn. If there is anything negative, its not about the hotel itself but rather Austrian differences, like the glasses for juice/water are tiny, this is true of everywhere we went.I highly recommend this hotel and if we ever come to Vienna again we will stay here!!

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful but it is advertised as 4 star and would have to say it is a pleasant 3 star. The breakfast was relatively basic and not varied enough if staying more than a few days. The room is pretty basic and the glass door to the bathroom is a little disconcerting and takes some getting used to, basically you feel there is no privacy though it is frosted mostly. The room is on the small side also.
The neighborhood is pleasant and feels very safe. The walk to the city center is only about 20 minutes and is pleasant.
If you consider the price and location it is no too bad but look at it as more as 3 star in my book.

We had a standard room which was spacious, nicely furnished and very comfortable. The location is quiet but very close to lots of small, local bars and cafes serving traditional Viennese food and the area has a very safe and friendly feel to it - a definite bonus as the hotel doesn't serve food apart from breakfast. It is only about 20 minutes walk to the city centre and just around the corner from the underground so very easy to get about and see the sights. A taxi from the airport took around 30 minutes and cost €30, and the very friendly and helpful staff are happy to organise this for you. The hotel also operates a shuttle service which you can book in advance by calling them. Very close to the Freud Museum (which is definitely worth a visit).

Room Tip: We asked for a quieter, larger room and certainly had that but don't know if the others were the...

We originally booked a standard hotel room (through RCI) but upgraded to an apartment when we found at check-in that one was available. The room was spacious, though the furniture a little spartan. The full kitchen was small but well appointed with everything needed for a 1 week stay.
The bed was a little too firm for our liking, but we cured this by sleeping on the doonas rather than under them. Not only more comfortable, but far more practical given the lack of an air-conditioner and the hot summer weather. The management provided a fan to help keep us cool, but we still needed to keep the windows open the whole time. The downside of this is the noise from the nearby busy street. A room facing the garden may have been better.
The location of the Deutchmeister is great for exploring the inner city area. A couple of minutes away from the trains and trams that run around the Ringstrasse, or in our case, close enough for walking trips to all the inner city attractions.
The hotel staff were great. Friendly and helpful – and spoke good English.
This is a good value hotel, right next to the city centre. The only caution is the noise/heat problem that comes from the lack of air-conditioning . A mid-summer problem only, I would think.

Room Tip: Best to avoid the rooms facing directly onto the street.
