My husband and I stayed one night at Hotel Austria on the final night of our 10 day Austrian trip. We chose Hotel Austria based on Trip Advisor reviews and for its location to the airport bus stop. The hotel is two blocks from Schwedenplatz where you can pick up the airport bus for a reasonable price. We had to leave the hotel very early to catch our plane. We left at 3:45 a.m. in the morning and walked to the bus. We felt safe in the neighborhood and its location was very convenient.

The room was clean and roomy. It had high ceilings and gave it a more "luxurious" feel to it. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We did have to sleep with the windows closed due to some noise from the side street below. The hotel had an oscillating fan in the room which helps to keep you cool. The rooms do not have air conditioning and most don't in Austria. If they have air conditioning you will pay extra for it.

The reception staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to check in and out at the same time since we were leaving so early. I would have enjoyed the opportunity to stay at the hotel longer than one night as it was quite charming. The front staff even extended an offer to have some early breakfast and coffee for us which was kind of them.

We were greeted by the lovely Renate - she gave us an excellent dinner reservation, made sure our 3 year-old had a trundle bed (instead of a crib/cot) and was all around an excellent representative of the hotel. She was particularly kind when our child dropped a glass on the bathroom floor and it shattered. She was in our room right away with the tools to clean it up safely. The breakfast was well thought out to meet the tastes of many cultures; our children LOVED the hot chocolate from the espresso machine. The room was not large to fit 4 people, but we expected it, and the bathroom was quite generous in size. The hotel is in a very quiet location but it located very close to Stephanplatz and the metro and river. It is near some excellent restaurants and shopping. The hotel has several wines for purchase available if you find yourself wanting some one evening. They seem to have thought of everything.

This is a very charming hotel. It's location is perfect for getting anywhere in the city; it is very close to Stephansdom but sits on a quiet street. As a family of four, we all shared one large room with air conditioning for three nights. I appreciated the modern bathroom and that breakfast was included (and provided a large selection of items to chose from). All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit on the small size for our family and did not have a mentionable view. But it suited our needs perfectly as a quiet, comfortable, centrally-located, and great value hotel to get over our jet-lag and start our European vacation.

Room Tip: In the summer I would ensure your room has air conditioning.

Helpful, pleasant staff who looked after our every need. Comfortable rooms and great breakfasts, I will stay there again. Close to public transport and restaurants, easy walking distance from many attractions and shops. It rained the whole time we were there, was still wonderful.

Room Tip: Doesn't really matter, all good.

This hotel was excellent for touring and walking Vienna. be aware that not all rooms have air conditioning, but ours did. They have an elevator so climbing the winding staircase is not necessary. The front desk was most helpful and spoke excellent English. They arranged shuttle buses for our large group. The breakfast, included in the room rate, was the BEST. It had fresh breads, fruit, jams, vegetables, cereal, yogurt, eggs, frankfurters, ham, expresso machine, juices and coffee brought to the table with warm cream.

Room Tip: If you are traveling in the summer and need a cool room, ask for a room with A/C. Some of the rooms...

We stayed here for three nights. The hotel was nice and comfortable. The price was reasonable for what your get and the great location. The staff was extremely helpful and gave us good dinner recommendations all three nights. They also helped us navigate the tram lines and made concert reservations for us.

Booked this hotel for the night before our departure from Vienna. The hotel is clean and the service is good but the rooms are fairly small. Its location is good and within walking distance of many of the major attractions, including the St Stephans dome. The staff is very friendly and for the location, the rate was good at 151 euros for the night. Breakfast was excellent. If you have a car with you, note that you are allowed into the small ally to drop off your suitcases at the hotel. The hotel also offers free Wifi.
PS. If you are taking a taxi to the airport, avoid Taxi 40100. They'll rip you off. The meter said 32 euros, which was in line with what we were told, but he insisted on 45. Unfortunately we had no time to argue.
