Property is located down an alley way off a side street. It is very quiet and yet only a minute or two from the Underground, bus and tram stops. You are located within a 5-8 minute walk of St Stephens and the shopping district. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast area is well appointed and very relaxing offering an array of breakfast meats and cheeses, breads and rolls, coffees and teas.

We stayed in rooms 104 and 105 the week before Christmas (this was not our first time at that hotel). Cozy and with comfy beds, comfortable temps and a very good breakfast spread. It was quiet even though our room was right on the street above the entrance. Reception staff was very nice; the decorations for Xmas were an excellent touch as well.

We had two rooms at this hotel; a triple and the classic double. The rooms were wonderfully clean and look to be recently updated (within the past couple of years). My mom and daughter stayed in the classic, two singles and an additional sitting area with single sofa set up. My husband, son and I had the triple. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. The hotel is located on a side street very close to St. Stephan's Cathedral. Great location and we even had a celebrity sighting near the hotel! There is a grocery store right around the corner and we only used the subway once, as everything is within walking distance. Staff was very helpful and there is free wi-fi and a computer with printer in the lobby. Breakfast was huge with everything from hot eggs, wonderful breads, cheeses, meats, juices, hot chocolate machine (my son loved this!), sweet breads, cereals, yogurt, fruit. You could even skip lunch!

Can't believe we stayed at the same hotel as the previous reviewer. We have nothing but good things to say about the hotel. Yes it is up a small alley but at no time did we feel frightened. Remember this is the old town and there are small streets everywhere. Our room although not huge was perfectly big enough and the bathroom was fine. Our friends were next door and their room was slightly larger. It was snowing most of the time we were there and quite cold and yes the heating was turned on but you could turn each heater off in your room and open the window for fresh air.
The reception staff we friendly, helpful with directions and bookings for concerts.
The breakfast was terrific although they need to get a new toaster as it only warms the bread and not toasts.
Location is great, you can walk everywhere or get the tram or subway.
Would definately stay again.

I"m really surprised at all of the great reviews of this hotel. My husband and I really disliked it and we didn't look forward to going back there each night. Everything was very outdated, not in a charming historical way, but in a "we're too cheap to renovate" way. The room with the shower had a giant hole in the wall behind a flimsy curtain, which felt very invasive. The toilet was in a dimly lit closet. We had two twin beds in the room which was crammed full of extraneous furniture. It would have been nice to eliminate some of the furniture and have more room for luggage. We found some of the people at the front desk to be friendly and helpful, but one guy we avoided completely because he was so rude. The pluses were that the breakfast was ok, it was close to public transportation, and there was free wifi in the rooms.

We were shown two more rooms after noticing our non-smoking room was adjacent to the outside smoking terrace. The three rooms were all different in layout and size. We choose room 212 with two large windows facing the inner courtyard which afforded us fresh air and quiet. The spacious bathroom had been recently renovated. The room furnishings are from an earlier era but were clean and we had a comfortable stay. Staff were all very pleasant. Location is excellent, easy walk to major sights and the Schwedenplatz metro/tram station very close. We used the hotel website's directions from the Stephansplatz station, it was a great spot to come up above ground for our first look at the heart of Vienna.

Situated a less than 10 minute walk to St Stephens Cathedral with excellent rooms, staff and breakfast. Plenty of local, good value restaurants and a local supermarket
