There were several restaurants listed in the information notebook in our hotel room. We chose Da Gino e Marie, which was closest to our hotel and within easy walking distance. We arrived rather early, before the restaurant became very busy, and we were greeted warmly and seated at a window table. (We are not especially good-looking, but maybe we look non-threatening.) The host (perhaps the owner?) helped us select an Italian wine to go with our orders. We both ordered lamb dishes, which were fine, but I don't remember now how they were prepared. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and we felt very comfortable there. After our dinner, the hostess brought us complimentary glasses of grappa, which was very good. If I'm ever in Vienna again, I'll go back.
