We chose this hotel as part of a British Airways short stay package for visiting the Vienna Christmas Markets just prior to Christmas itself. One of the main reasons for us choosing this particular hotel was the superb location as we were literally five minutes away from the City Hall and the main Vienna 'Christkindl' market. The hotel was in a very quiet location. We had no road noise and the hotel itself was very quiet. All other central tourist attractions are within easy walking distance but the underground and tram are there as excellent and reasonably cheap alternatives. We had a room pre-booked but were able to upgrade easily prior to our arrival to one at the top of the hotel, having already done our research we knew about it being hot in the Summer (but, of course this wasn't going to be an issue). Our room had air conditioning, don't know about other rooms, and we even had to turn our room temperature down a bit. There are loads of nice touches to this place including flasks of hot tea and coffee by the reception ready for when you are about to venture outside as well as complimentary fruity alcoholic punch as a nice alternative ! A taxi was booked for our arrival at Vienna airport by the hotel (to avoid any hassle as we arrived later in the evening) and it was waiting for us with no problems whatsoever. All the staff we encountered spoke fantastic English and were very helpful. Our only gripe with our stay was the fact that the breakfasts are a little expensive at 15 Euros a head although the variety of food available was certainly good.

Room Tip: We were in room 617. It was very spacious and so was the bathroom, but it is in the roof with no vie...

We primarily choose this hotel because of the short distances to sights and city center. We went in December to check out the Christmas markets. The hotel is conveniently located in a calm area with only one-way alleys surrounding it, but it’s only around 400 m to two metro stations and even shorter distance to the tram stop. There is also a supermarket a couple of hundred meters away.

The check-in was swift and friendly with clear signs on the desk for the check-in and check-out counter respectively. Overall, everyone of the staff we met was kind and helpful.

Our room was located on the fourth floor and there’s a normal sized elevator and a wide staircase if you’d like to walk up. Our double room was of very good size and good planned. There was a big working desk and a mini-bar with a TV on top. The TV was an old flat 15-17” screen in 4:3 format which means that today’s widescreen broadcasts are just a band in the middle. Many channels, mainly in German but also CNN and some Italian channels. A kettle was provided and some different teas and coffees and a bottle of water. Wine glasses, mugs and regular glasses were available. The bed was very good. The WiFi worked well but had no security at all. You could just log on and surf without entering any codes. Be careful so you don’t compromise your data!

There was a huge closet with built-in lights (great idea!) and the safety deposit box was in the middle in perfect height for handling. In many hotels the deposit boxes are too high or too low or behind other doors etc, but not here! There is also an electrical outlet in the box which means you can charge batteries in there. The box is locked and unlocked with a code or your credit card (no charge).

The bathroom was good sized and clean with good spaces to put your personal belongings. The bathtub was equipped with a small glass door that should keep the shower splashing to a minimum but really, that doesn't work. If you use the shower, the floor will get wet. Not a huge problem though. Water pressure and temperature was very good.

The breakfast was amazing and fresh and the staff there was so kind and helpful! Loved it!

The not-so-good:

* Electrical outlets! Despite the good idea to have one in the deposit box, how hard can it be to provide some extras in the room? We had to remove lamp cords to get all phones and laptops charged.

* An old earplug found under the bed. Not so nice.

* The rooms was probably renovated around 10 years ago and will need an update in the next few years. Everything was working as it should so this wasn't a big issue at all.

We would gladly come back and stay here again! One thing though: I don’t know if the rooms have AC or not so you might want to check that before you book a room in the summer.

We booked this hotel for a 3 night stop in Vienna. It turned out to be absolutely perfect for us. The hotel building is very impressive from the outside and was bright and modern on the inside.

Room
We were given a room on the 5th floor which was a very decent size and recently refurbished. The bed was maybe a touch harder than we are used to at home, but the room was very comfortable.

Location
The location was perfect, two minutes walk from the underground, five minutes from the enormous Christmas market outside the Council house, Easy walking distance to the Hofburg palace, the Art history museum and the Natural history museum and any others

Breakfast
breakfast was good with hot dishes bacon/scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, cold meats, cheeses, coffee, cereals juices etc.

Would certainly stay here again

Room Tip: We had a great room on the 5th floor

I was in Vienna just a 3 night weekend wanted to make the most of it. so this hotel location was great walking distance to all main attractions within the downtown (historic area) I walked everywhere and the area is safe and lovely. The service was courteous the wifi not too bad and the room was nice, quiet, with a lovely bed and shower. All the basic for a stay where you want to be confortable and not pay a lot of money, I will definitively recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Room Tip: A foot the most basic sgl room and it was great.

We came to the hotel at 1200 and was told that our room is not ready yet. So we left our luggage with the reception and went for our city tour. Wgen we returned to the hotel, we were told that we were given a smaller room. Therefore, the hotel gave us a "present". To our surprise and disappointment, it is actually a single room and not the double room we booked. The present was a small bottle of wine and wasnt off much use because we already had lotsa drinks before we came back. I approached the receptionist to clarify the type of room given to us and she had the cheek to continue to lie that its the same room we booked but just a smaller one. I confronted her with the photos i see from the internet and she finally admitted that they booked wrongly. As we were both tired from all the walking and it was too late to find another hotel, we accepted it anyway. I am really disappointed and disgusted by their dishonestly.

Most sights and things to do in Vienna are a very short walk away. Public transport is a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is basic. Rooms a bit dated - except for the bathroom. This was spacious & modern. I think the cost per room is a bit high. The bar is a couple of seats at reception. Breakfast is eatable & there are options. The reception staff are helpful & friendly. Free wifi is good. All in all a suitable hotel in a great location!
