I am staying at the hotel with my daughter. Great location, I didn't know how good the location was... nice rooms we tooka superior one facing the street. Its a small street by the ring strasse. The staff is really nice especially Claudia who is extremely nice! Breakfast is good the espresso machine is very good- free to use all day long, important if you don't like the local coffee. ..

We were staying a couple of weeks outside of Vienna but decided to go spend a night in the city. We booked via the internet - the HOTEL MAILBURGER-HOF.
It was about 8.30 in the morning when we arrived. The man at reception greeted us with a few words we didn’t understand and a big smile. We returned the smile then politely converted him to English. He checked on the computer to find our names. He needed us to fill in a form to Register. While my wife filled in the form - he reminded us that the room rate included breakfast tomorrow morning. I acknowleged the fact and asked him that we know check-in isn’t until 3pm, but could we please leave our bags with him and we will pick them up later in the afternoon when the room is ready. He said “No problem - but your room is available now” producing a key “Welcome to Vienna and our Hotel. We hope you enjoy your stay” he said.
He continued, “If you wish, breakfast is still on until 11.30am - and you are most welcome to take advantage of it - no charge” We thanked him, and explained we had already eaten breakfast. Now, here was a great start to our first ever visit to the city of Vienna. He also showed us a little lounge off to the side of the reception. Here you can make yourself coffee, and help yourself to any of the food in the next room.. You being a guest - it's open 24 hours a day. .
Our Room on the third floor had an old world charm.. Our stay was very memorable - We definately recommend this hotel.

Location: it is very close to all the attractions and near very good restaurants
The rooms are very big specially for Europe standards. You even get a couch!!
Nice AC unit
Great breakfast
I dont understand why people leave 3 stars. The people who work in the hotel are very friendly, love it. If you want a luxury hotel in the center of vienna, pay big bucks. I think it is worth it!!

Mailbergerhof is a super Hotel Garni in middle of Vienna. It is close to most of the interesting highlights of the city (Staatsoper, Albertina, Hofburg, Ronacher Theater, Shopping mile of the Kärtner Street, House of Musik, ect.).
We have booked for 3 night’s one double room and an apartment with 3 beds for our son and our 2 grand children. Our room incl. bathroom was large, the apartment was huge (bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom), not a luxury, however appropriately arranged. Everything was clean and the reception attendants polite and 24 h present. The hotel has an inner courtyard were the breakfast, if the weather allows, could be taken, otherwise in the breakfast room. The breakfast buffet was of a very good standard.
Even though the Garni Hotel does not have its own restaurant you take few steps along the Annagasse to enter the “Weinbotschaft” restaurant or the Trattoria-Pizzeria Sole and if your kids prefer Burger King, they shall have it some 50 yards further.

Mailberger Hof is a great place to stay. The location is perfect - very Close to the Staatsoper, the Kärtner Strasse Shopping mile, to the royal Apartments of Hofburg, to Ronacher and to all major sights. The Hotel is situated in a quiet street. Mostr rooms face a nice courtyard. The rooms are all pretty cosy and personal which is so nice after being in so many anonymous, unspersonal Hotels with identical rooms. The whole place is designed in the spirit of a 19th century, imperial fashion while at the same time you feel more like being a guest in a private home than at a hotel which is open to the public. That is a also true to the way breakfast is served.

Room Tip: Select a room facing the courtyard.

I stayed here for one night in November 2012, myself and my girlfriend came by Train from GRAZ, the Hotel is nice and Central near a U bahn station, ALL sights that you might wish to visit are a 'stones throw' away and Wien really is a VERY Beautiful City. We stayed in a very fine, very large room with a beautiful large bathroom (with Shower), the floor was heated (so nice) and you have a kitchenette should you need it, we didn't, but it's there & Oh my god....there is a mini-bar, which is FREE, No spirits but you have wine, bier, sparkling wine, fruit juice, etc. The breakfast selection is Awesome and you get Free Champagne if you wish (The Austrian variety). All in all one of the finest hotels I'd ever stayed in and the Staff are very friendly and helpful also. Loved it and I would return.

The Mailberger hof is easy to find and is very close to Stephans Dom and the metro. From there it is good access to further transportation to Hauptbahnhof (Central train station) or Airport.

Both the staff and the environment in the hotel was great. Breadfast is good. Some downsides is that the room is not up-to-date with red thick carpet and heavy curtains. And we got a room with windows towards the inner yard, which is good since we don't want the noise on the street side. But it is also a bit dark and shady. There is not much sunshine in the our room.

The staff was good at English.

Room Tip: Book inadvance.
