“An Unforgettable First 'Impression'”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

The Monet exhibit brought me inside but the palace surroundings were enchanting and provided the perfect background to display the impressionist paintings. Being up close to the masters work and then wandering the grand palace was a delightful way to spend the afternoon.

We really like Impressionist art, and the Albertina not only had a wide array of Impressionart art but other styles that were great to see. The museum was well laid out and we highly recommend it.

We were very lucky to see this exciting exhibition! The Albertina is a beautiful building and perfect setting for any exhibit. Very reasonably priced and easy to get to by tram.

“Special exhibition during July 2014”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

This was a nice, cultural mix of art from many cultures as well as one separate floor mostly dedicated to a 60's movie called Blowup.
The photography was outstanding!

“5 stars and I am not a real fan of Impressionism”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

There are some stunning artworks mixed in with the sublime and ridiculous. I need to make it clear at the beginning of this review that, for the most part, I do not get Impressionism. I am not sure if some artists have an imagination that is not matched by their talent. Monet and Signac I like but most works by Picasso and Chagal leave me stone cold.

The collection is very broad in its content and I am sure that most people will find something to enjoy so do not dismiss this place because it's a genre that does not appeal.

I found the place almost deserted so I was able to take my time with what I liked but I did have an issue with the security staff. There is a no photography policy, understandable as only a few of the pictures are under glass. However there was a women who photographed every item with her camera phone and security did not care. My problem was that this person did not have courtesy to have the phone on silent so the shutter noise could be heard 2 rooms away.

Would I recommend the Albertina and would I visit again? Yes and yes.
