It is a must see and do in Vienna just for the reason it has been featured in so many spy and romance movies

The biggest attraction is definitely a Ferris wheel. It's worth a ride on it. There are many attractions for children and adults. And when you get hungry you can find something to eat. Many attractions are many interesting things to look at and test. You should visit this place if you're in Vienna.

We went to the Prater to ride the iconic ferris wheel and the rest of the park left us a bit cold. Standard, noisy, flashy rides - go if it's your sort of thing! The dodgems play Mozart, so that's a bit different!
The entrance is free; you pay for the rides.

The Riesenrad is the best reason to go to the Prater, starring in the famous film The Third Man. There is a small exhibit before you go on which adds nicely to the experience, and its about €9 per person as of April 2014. Other than this the Prater is basically a permanently settled funfair, with many lacklustre overpriced rides. There are a couple of newer attractions such as an indoor rollercoaster however overall it's rather shoddy. With many people on a warm night it could be more fun at a guess. The food on offer is ok for the price. I can only wonder why a landmark city like Vienna has not revamped this place in order to bring it upmarket and make it a world contending theme park. It could then have it's own set of staff instead of just being a banding of motley ride bandits.

I visited this place 20 years ago, now it looks pretty the same. Old games, old structure, many rusty pillars, no "normal" place to have lunch. The fast food places are below the level of expectation Vienna normally has in all its places. Needs a serious renovation and a fresh conception.
