Nestled against the Danube near Schwedenplatz, the 'Bermuda Triangle' of Vienna is a real treat for anyone looking for an adventurist night out. It's a weave of streets filled with a wide variety of bars and restaurants. By luck more than design we started at the 'Philosoph', a very friendly, rustic and metal grunge bar that assists with loosening up the evening. Forcing ourselves onwards, we found ourselves at the more polished, hip, contemporary dance enabling 'Kaktus' bar. Easy going and difficult to leave - not prickly at all. Two doors down and upstairs, the 'First Floor' proved a real treat with the 'Jazz Crime Trio' providing a solid live music experience. The solid cocktail list enhanced by the aquarium background, deepened the charm of this place. It wasn't long before we were ensconced by 'Latin Lover' and 'Sex Machine' cocktails - both tasty and appropriate. All of this between 7pm and midnight when we headed to the Passage Club. A fantastic side of Viennese nightlife that should not be missed.
