Nice church and the interiors and the dome are ver impressive as well. Make sure you go up the elevators to the top to have a close look at the renovated dome.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! And taking an elevator then walking the temp stairs to the top where they are restoring the frescoes - what a great opportunity!

in case you don't attend a service you should take a tour, especially now after the rigorous renovations. I used to attend the Handelsakademie across the street and it is painful to experience that you cannot just walk in anymore, but I understand the renovation costs are horrendous. My heart is still there

We went to visit this church not knowing about the opportunity to go right up into the tiny top dome. A lift takes you up to the base of the main dome where there is a wooden platform. On that platform are stairs that zig zag up into the tiny top dome. I'm not keen on heights but it is such a unique thing to do that I gritted my teeth and did it. I have to say that coming down those stairs was worse than going up because you must look down on the descent. We enjoyed it so much we did it twice!
A unique experience!

This was one of the most magnificent experiences of my trip to Vienna. The church is incredible - they are doing some work on the interiors and allow visitors to go up to the top of the church and view the frescoes up close - amazing!
