Compared to other treasure collections like for example in the Tower of London, this collection is rather disappointing.
There is very little information on the objects in the exhibition if you don't take the audio guide, which is charged extra on top of the already very expensive 12€ admission.

Thank Daniel K

We visited the Teasury as the guide book described it as having a good collection of jewels. In actual fact there were only a few jewels so this was rather disappointing. The cost plus audio guide was 16 euros which was a bit steep for what was actually on display (also very little is in English so an audio guide is really needed).

We also found this to be the most busy of all of the museums that we visited and some of the rooms can become quite crowded especially when there is a tour guide and their party in the confined space. We encountered a tour group and found them to be noisy and rude with their tour guide behaving as if they owned the place and bad luck to anyone else visiting.

Whilst the jewels and garments that royalty had worn were beautiful and interesting they were in far too short a supply and there were numerous tunics on display and frankly once you've seen one tunic you've seen them all. It kind of felt a bit as if they were padding out the exhibit as there was not that much quality stuff to look at.

It wasn't terribly inspiring and neither of us left feeling that it had blown us away.

We had a guided tour of the treasury and I was surprised that it was not busy. There are some impressive exhibits but there is plenty to see in Vienna so be selective and include a variety of different type of attractions so that you don't get overwhelmed with the opulence and history. I wish we had spent this time by going to the Prater and riding the Ferris wheel or going to see the art exhibit at the Belvedere Palace.

For a total of €16 (audio guide included), I found this museum to be adequate. I expected far more in terms of crown jewels.

This is a great exhibit of the treasures of the Hapsburg empire. Lots of blingy crowns and jewelry. I found the most interesting exhibits to be the supposed holy artifacts things like the spear of destiny, parts of the cross, nails from the cross, holy grail. Interesting to see all of these things. The audio-guide is very helpful. This place is much more interesting than the new place museum.
