We stayed at this hotel as a family for 3 nights in December 2013. My Mom, who loves in Austria, joined us for 2 nights. As mentioned by others, the staff are friendly and helpful. They also spoke English.
My mother arrived very early on the day she was to book in, and although her room wasn’t ready (It was 9am), they made sure to give her a room that was near our room, actually 2 doors away and even allowed her to join us for breakfast.
Although the room was not large, there was an extra bed for our daughter in the room, and we still had enough space for our entire luggage. There was a safe and a mini bar that used to store some drinks.
The room was very quiet, and well heated, but with the option of opening the window for fresh air. You can also control the heat. There was free Wi-Fi available in the rooms.
We looked over the courtyard, and I can see it would be lovely to sit out there in summer.
The breakfast room is lovely, with a large variety of items to choose from and even a cappuccino maker that I made full use of. Breakfast is available till 11am, so there was no rush, nice in winter when it is dark for so long.
One of the reasons we chose this hotel is that it promised to be centrally located, and it certainly is. We took the S-Bahn from the airport to the Praterstern station, and expected a bit of a walk, but once you find your way out of the station, it is really very close. The station has S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams and buses. It was just so easy to get around. In 2 stops on the underground you are in the centre of town. This was a real bonus with a 4 year old in tow.
You can also walk to the Prater. Mostly it is closed in winter, but there was a small Christmas market, and a couple of rides open, including a Ferris wheel.
In summer I would imagine it is a lovely walk to the centre of Vienna from there.
There was a coffee shop and a restaurant nearby, but we didn’t get to use either, mostly we ate at the Christmas markets. There is also a great supermarket in the station, we shopped there every day. It is open till 10pm.
All in all, I would definitely stay at this hotel again if we come back to Vienna.
