I read a review stating this hotel was a "little gem" how true.
Great price , clean room and fantastic bed.
Free safe, free wi-fi and friendly service from all the staff.
Breakfast had a varied selection and was very good.
Our short weekend break was made more enjoyable with the good location of this hotel, 2min from underground station.
Well done Capri Hotel.

The customer service and breakfast at this hotel is excellent. I stayed with my sister and neice and we had a family room which was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. It is a very good location with easy access to the metro and within walking distance of Stephans platz.

The hotel is well located next to the underground and only few stops from the Stephans platz. The room was big enough and it was clean. The breakfast was just great with variety of different food from local juices to cheeses to good coffee. My room was in the seventh floor facing the road and it was impossible to sleep the window open due to traffic. This made the room air quite heavy.

A work colleague and I spent the weekend at the Hotel Capri recently.

PROS: The entrance to the Nestroyplatz U-Bahn (underground) station is literally right outside the front door. This is only 2 stops from the center of the city (Stephansplatz) on the U1 Line. It is also a very pleasant 10-15 minute walk (or one stop on the U-Bahn) in the other direction to the "Prater" amusement park.

The breakfast buffet is excellent: very wide selection of food and drink, with LOTS of seating available all the time, and incredibly friendly (and multilingual) breakfast room staff.

The front desk staff was uniformly friendly and helpful.

There is limited parking available in the courtyard off the street, in a gated parking lot. There are also "garage boxes" available, if reserved in advance.

We stayed in the "Family Suite", which had a double bed and sitting area and the bathroom/toilet in one room, and two single beds in the other room (which also opened onto a balcony.) It was very roomy.

The beds are VERY firm. If you like soft, cushiony beds, these won't work for you. But I slept very well!

CONS: Parking fees are excessive. We had reserved a "garage box" to park the car, but when we got there, no one seemed to know about the reservation (though I had the printed confirmation). So we ended up parking in a regular spot. The real problem I have with the parking is that we had to pay €17 per night whether we parked in the parking lot OR in the garage. Even for Vienna, this seems rather high.

The room charge for the "Family Suite" is only reasonable if you pack about 6 people into the room: 2 in the double bed, 1 on each of the single beds, and two on the couch! We paid €548 for two nights. It was a nice room, but hardly worth that price.

The suite had minimal "suite" facilities. Other than a TINY little "cooler" (sort of a refrigerator) which wasn't cold, there wasn't anything else like you'd expect to find in a "suite".

The suite had radiator-type heating, but no air-conditioning. We never turned the heat on, but I had to leave the window open at night, as otherwise the room was uncomfortably warm. Considering it was only mid-April, I can't imagine spending the night here during the summer.

To summarize: we had a nice weekend in Vienna, and there was a lot about Hotel Capri that we did like. But would we stay there again? Maybe in cheaper rooms, but definitely not in the "Family Suite" (and we'd park our car elsewhere!)

Dear Mr. Daniel S

Thank you very much for taking the time to report about your experience at our hotel.

We are glad to hear that you overall had a nice weekend in Vienna and enjoyed our extensive Viennese breakfast. We are also happy that you liked the central location of our hotel and that our staff was able to convince with friendly and helpful service.

On the other hand we are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our parking facilities and would like to apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the reservation for a garage box at your check-in. We will look into the matter why the garage reservation was not taken into account.

All our guests have the possibility to use our parking lots or garage boxes, both at a rate of EUR 17,00 per night. Of course there are other possibilities to park a car, f. ex. in a public garage at a possibly cheaper daily rate. Please note that in this case you have to use public transportation (which also has to be paid) to get there and/or to get back to hotel. Another possibility would be to park your car on the street in our neighborhood, but you have to consider, that in our district park permission is necessary. Parking tickets are available in tobacco shops and cost EUR 4,00 for two hours. If we take all these facts into account, the price of our parking is moderate, as you can conveniently park your car directly behind our hotel. Of course our reception staff will be helpful in explaining were to park your car elsewhere.

Our Family Suites are equipped with mini fridge, electric kettle with complimentary tea and coffee, two flat TV´s, among other things. We are sorry to hear that we could not meet your expectations regarding facilities in our Family Suite, but as we always would like to improve our service we kindly ask you to send us what kind of facilities you missed. We also would like to apologize that the fridge was not cool, while your stay. After sending our technician the problem with the thermostat was fixed immediately.

Our rooms are not equipped with air condition and we would like to point out that it can get warm in the hot summer months. In order to offer our guests a pleasant stay during these weeks, all our rooms are equipped with fans.

In regard to the price our Family Suite is ideally suited for families of 4 (max. 5) persons. As you made your reservation for two persons only, we would like to recommend reserving a room in our Standard, Superior or Executive category for your next stay. Rooms in those categories are suitable for two persons, modern and nicely decorated and have also good equipment for a lower price than in our Suite.

Dear Mr. Daniel, we would like to apologize again for the inconveniences while your stay at our hotel and hope to get the opportunity to welcome you again to our hotel to fully convince you of our good service.

Best regards
The Capri Team

* stone's throw away to Nestoyplatz train station, 5 minute walk to Prater train station (here is the only grocery in Vienna that is open Sundays)
* the breakfast is great! decent selection of bread, cheese, juice, coffee, etc.,
* staff are very helpful :)
* rooms are lovely :) not all rooms have mini-fridge and/or fan, so if you need this, may need to put in a request.

Would I recommend this hotel to friends? ABSOLUTELY!

I can't really fault this hotel. Convenient location, by the Nestroyplatz underground but also only 15mins walk from the centre of Vienna.

Good spacious rooms (admittedly I was on the top floor), with a huge bathroom. Plenty of storage and great wifi.

Breakfast was the only slight let down, in that there weren't many non dairy alternatives. Otherwise a good selection of continental breakfast items.

Surrounding area okay. Sadly didn't like Vienna, and is the only european city I have been to where I was harrassed.
Top tip - don't go for the Vienna card. It doens't save you any money. Found Vienna to be more expensive than Zurich, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Very comfortable rooms and gracious staff. Very helpful. You walk across the street, go down a glass elevator and you are on the metro that takes you to the center of Vienna. It's also very walkable to the center. Only drawback, no hand/body lotion and I thought I'd use the hotels'. But I would definately stay here again.
