“You never know what you're going to get.....”

Four years ago, we stayed in apartment #5. It was a bright, cheery apartment that we enjoyed. For this trip, we requested #5 again, but were given #6. There was such a huge difference in these apartments and we did not like apartment #6 at all.

First of all, the owner is a nice guy but is a little bit too possessive of his apartments. On both visits, he tended to find reasons to come in to the apartment during the day while we were gone.

Cleanliness is also an issue. The bathroom floor looked dirty so I bought some disinfectant wipes and used them to clean areas of the apartment and they turned black. This apartment was dirty and just seemed like it had not been taken care of.

We were so disappointed with our stay and will try to find another apartment if we return to Vienna.

We have mixed feelings with staying at CAV.

We decided to rent an apartment due to the need for doing laundry after a long trip in Italy. We usually stayed at Hotel since most of the time we knew what to expect.
However, this time we took a chance by renting an apartment- and saw good reviews about the CAV at trip advisor, we decided to reserve it.

Booking process was efficient. We asked for a studio apartment and we made sure it had the same amenities as Apartment #5. The owner/manager assured us that all the apartments had the same amenities.

When we arrived, the studio apartment was not available (strange, since it was confirmed many months ahead), instead we got a 1 bedroom apartment (the owner/manager didn't inform us before hand about the change). We didn't pay extra due to the change (still paid the studio rate).
However, we found out at the time of our arrival, the 1 bedroom apartment (apartment #2) didn't have A/C! Only 2 standing fans for living room and bedroom. It was so hot in Vienna during our 5 nights stay and we were quite unhappy for not being informed of the change prior our arrival. But apparently when we asked the owner/manager whether there was another apartment with A/C, he said none has A/C. Not sure which one has the A/C.

To be honest, if we knew prior to our arrival that the apartment didn't have A/C, we will definitely cancel our reservation there and find another place to stay.
We had our young son travelling with us and were lucky that no one got sick during our stay in Vienna even though at night we all sweat a lot and woke up many times since the weather was exceptionally hot (opening all the windows and fans didn't help).

WiFi connection overall was good and fast. We had some problem and called the owner, it was fixed immediately. There was only 2 English channels for the TV.
2 twin beds put together as king- were ok- hard but we didn't expect much.
Shower was good pressure. Washer for clothes was working fine. There was no drier- only 1 large drying rack provided which was OK. We didn't use the coffee machine but used the water kettle for instant coffee in the morning. Refrigerator was working fine.
The owner/manager also arranged a private taxi pickup and drop off at/to airport which was nice.

The location was good considering it was not far from main tourist attractions and naschmarkt. Walking will still be considered far though, especially during a hot summer day at 32-35 degree celcius! Strangely, most taxi drivers in Vienna didn't like to take passengers from the Kohlmarkt area to the apartment. Many of them told us to walk even though it was so hot. Seems EUR 8 per trip was not worthed for them.
Supermarket, Billa was also in the corner of the apartment building. There were a nice Japanese tea shop, Japanese restaurant also in corner of the building.

To be fair, if you are looking for a cheap place to stay and don't mind much what you will get, then yes, this place is fine. But if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay and have a certain expectation of an accommodation, then think twice before booking this place.

In summary, this is NOT a 4 star establishment (we stayed in 4-5 star accomodation and this is by far can't be compared as 4 star). It was 3 star average accommodation and true, the price was way cheaper than staying at the hotel.
Would we come back though? No, we would not. There is much uncertainty reserving at this establishment.

Room Tip: Make sure you inquire all the important amenities such as A/C, WiFi, laundry before you make reserva...

I have stayed at CAV Vienna on a number of occasions and have always been extremely happy with the location as well as the beautiful condition of the apartment and the friendly service of the owner Herr Voshmgir. The studio apartment I stayed in was perfect for one person and was always clean and warm. It is fitted with everything one needs and Herr Voshmgir is always only too happy to accommodate if you need anything specific. The location, right by the famous Naschmarkt, is a five minute walk from Karlsplatz U-bahn station and a ten minute walk to the opera house which is the perfect location for sight seeing in Vienna. I would highly recommend Central Apartments Vienna.

We stayed here for a week in May, 2014. The location can't be beat. A short block to the naschtmarkt, the huge, wonderful food market, in our view the best in Europe. Easy walk to the Ring, the Opera and the Musikverein for music lovers and to all of central Vienna.

The apartment was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable. The owner was very responsive to a minor problem and replaced the damaged shower head the same day we reported it.

Strongly recommended. We would definitely stay here on our return to Vienna.

The apartment is wonderfully located near the Naschmarkt and in walking distance from the Karlskirche UBahn and most places of interest in the inner city. It has a few good cafes nearby plus a handy supermarket. We stayed on the 2nd floor and found our apartment to be quiet, comfortable, light filled and reasonably spacious. It is well furnished for its very reasonable price bracket. The management was helpful, meeting us on time and storing our luggage while we made a side trip to Budapest. The kitchen is reasonably though not generously equipped. We would consider staying there again.

An exceptionally functional apartment.

The subject line says it all. Even taking into account a couple of minor quibbles, this was the most functional apartment I have ever rented in Europe. Our kitchen was equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, and an electric drip coffee maker that makes "American" coffee. (Bring your own ground coffee and perhaps paper filters [if you don't want to rely on the resuable screen filter]. The bathroom had a shower and tub, and the WC had an entirely separate small cubicle of it's own.

The living room was large, attractive, and equipped with a good flat screen TV with a DVD player. There is a separate TV in the bedroom. The living area includes a nice work desk area with a telephone and fax machine. The unit has reliable WiFi that was fast enough for us to watch a movie on a computer one stormy night.

Your host will tell you how to get to the nearby and very adequate Billa market for food and vino. [Go out the front door, turn left, turn left].

The minor quibbles:
(1) There is only 1 English language station available on the television (CNN). Normally we would not have cared, but for part of our visit bad weather kept us indoors more than usual.
(2) The instructions in the apartment for using the clothes washer/dryer were not correct for our particular machine. We had to contact the owner for help.
(3) We were instructed on how to empty the trash, but no replacement trash bags were provided for our 6 night stay.
(4) It would have been very helpful for the owner to provide a large scale map of the immediate neighborhood with specific suggestions of restaurants and directions for getting to the nearby Karlsplaz metro station. See next paragraph.

TIP FOR STAYING HERE: Whether you want to ride the metro or just want the quickest and safest walk to the Ringstrasse, these instructions for getting to the massive Karlsplaz U-Bahn (metro) station may help. In the neighborhood of the hotel, street names can change every block. Before you arrive, print out an internet map that shows you a close-up, large scale map that shows both the location of the hotel and the station. Get from the hotel to the station by: 1) walking 2 blocks WSW; 2) then, noting the Billa market accross the street as a landmark for your return trip, and remaining on the West side of the street, turn left and go 2 blocks NNE; 4) Enter the station using the very obvious stairway headed down. You have just entered the "Wiedener Hhaupstrasse" entrance/exit. Remember this for your return trip! If you go out the wrong exit you will be lost. You are now at the south end of the station. Going north (your only obvious choice) will lead you past the various entrances to different metro lines--not to mention Starbuck's and McDonalds. If you go all the way to the north end, going up the exit stairs to the west will bring you out on the Ringstrasse (where you can catch the Ringstrasse trolley) and the Opera House.

Hope this helps. --Jeff

All as shown on the website the apartment was quiet ,very clean, comfortable and spacious. The owners were very helpful and when the internet dropped out quickly sorted it within an hour. Excellent position with two Bella stores and Naschmarkt close by and the centre of Vienna a few minutes walk.
