“Disappointing and pricey”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

On arrival at opening time was hoping to have breakfast here but the menu was limited and only offered a set breakfast , no pastries or bread. Opted for coffee and cake. Coffee was ridiculously expensive and not that good, cake was dry. The decor in this room is beautiful but the chunky furniture does not fit in with the style of the cafe and looks out of place. Wish we had given it a miss.

“Palace Dining”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Enjoying the day and marveling at the beauty of Belvedere Palace, we were just so happy to find this cafe right at our footsteps, and what a better way to have a small snack, and coffee, while enjoying the view around you.

“Living it up at the Belvedere Palace”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

We went to the Belvedere Palace to see the Klimt paintings, but the trip turned out to be better than expected when we discovered the additional wonderful art work in the other galleries. What a great exhibition! To celebrate our visit, we decided to have something to eat and drink and this nicely decorated little cafe was right there, ready to provide us with all sorts of goodies. The men each had a beer, the women had coffee and cake and not just any cake, but Belvedere Torte. I really enjoyed the torte and the coffee but the bill was higher than other places we had been to in Vienna. The coffees were 5 euro 70 each, the cake was 3 euro 80 each and the beers were 4 euro 90 each. However, it's not every day that you can enjoy such fantastic works of art and the cafe obviously regards its customers as people who are celebrating the beauty around them....and you have to pay for that!

“Nice location, decent food but pricy”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

Inside the Belvédère museum, this café is definitely nicely located. Food is surprinsingly good for an in-museum café. However, the portions are extremely small, making the café really pricy. Service is at first rather nice but almost aggressive when it comes to require more tipping!

“Welcome to the place...”
Reviewed 1 July 2013

where a latte macchiato costs 4,90 Euro, a cappucino 3,90 Euro and a espresso 2,90.

Ridiculous. It even weren't golden coffee beans.

Besides we tried their Klimt-breakfast, which read wonderful with nuts, olives, cherry tomato, egg, two different kinds of cheese (brie, emmentaler), ham, gugelhupf-cake, horseradish, winegrapes, butter, two piece of bread and a glass of fresh orange juice.

Well, reality was a bit different though.

First the waiter brought the orange juice. After that... nothing. For a real long time.

Finally the breakfast arrived, and it was like a bad joke. Instead of "olives" there was one olive. Half a cherry tomate. Instead of "nuts" five or sechs almonds. Two huge slices of butter, two slices of ham and cheese and the piece of brie. A small amount of horseradish. No winegrapes. At least a small glass with the orange juice, and the bread was fresh and good.

Nevertheless: Kinda ripoff and absolutely not enough for the 11 Euro the breakfast cost.

The applestrudel was nice with a reasonable price (5,50), so in total 2/5 for the overall experience.

Quite a pity, considering the wonderful location and atmosphere there.
