“Not close to tourist attractions”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2014

We had booked a quadruple room however this was changed to 2 double rooms we were unsure if this was a good or bad thing. As such it is difficult to rate our rooms as is wasn't what we had booked and paid for. One of the double rooms was significantly smaller than the other, with the bed being close to the wardrobe and the suitcase rack unable to be used due to the space restrictions. The breakfast was lovely, with even Champagne available, should you wish. We found the location whilst close to the Naschmarkt to be somewhat away from the main tourist attraction areas and about a 10 minute walk from the nearest Subway station, For a short stay like ourselves I would look at a hotel located closer to the main tourist attractions.

Strategically located on the Naschmarkt and at five minutes walk from Karlsplatz, the hotel has still an aged looking but this doesn't affect the comfort. The receptionists are really friendly and helpful, and the stay was absolutely ok. It is a very good trade-off between price and comfort, worth stayng a weekend to go around in Vienna.
The only little flaw: the website claims for a real Viennese breakfast, while it is a normal continental one, although quite rich and enjoyable.

Hotels in Vienna are not cheap, but location is excellent for being able to walk to all the main tourist sights, with the added plus of having the Naschmarkt on the doorstep and Karlsplatz underground station a few minutes walk away. Hotel staff were very welcoming and efficient and breakfast was much more than I had expected, with a good continental selection and even some warm food. Breakfast room was also nice and spacious. As per most Austrian hotels, there is no tea/coffee in the room, but there is a machine in the lobby area (Euro 1.50). I would say it's a good 3 star hotel and I would recommend it to like-minded, budget aware travellers. (Avoid at all costs eating at the Grafin am Naschmarkt - 10 euros for a glass of orange juice and the food quality is not the best.)

This is a good priced hotel quite near to Naschmarkt, with fine fish restaurants, and also near the great music buildings: Musikverein, Oper, Theater am Wien et cetera. Museumsviertel is also close. Recommended for tourists and congress visitors.

Room Tip: Room on the front side is excellent. No problem with noise.

The hotel is on the edge of the city centre, but very easy to reach by car. Cheap parking is available in the streets around the hotel. All downtown attractions are within walking distance.

The room came without air conditioning, which could be useful during the warm Viennese summer. Beds were good. Bathroom was clean but a bit outdated. The buffet breakfast was good.

Very small and hot! No air conditioning. We were on the 5th floor, and of course, the elevator only went up to the 4th floor. Lugging our heavy suitcases up was no fun! We complained that the ceiling fan had a cord that was hitting it and making noise, and were told they couldn't fix it until tomorrow.....we were only staying one night! Needless to say, we didn't use the ceiling fan and we burned up all night. Wifi wasn't very reliable.

This hotel is very convenient as it is next to Nachtmarkt, like 7 minutes walk to mariastrasse shopping street, and ten minutes from many other attractions like the opera. The rooms and halls are beautifully decorated by klimt reproduction paintings. The staff is very helpful and it is an excellent value for money.
