“Great location and environment”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Me and my family stayed there after deciding to stay more days in Vienna and our current hostel did not have more beds available for those nights. I must say I was quite happy with the decision.
The hostel has an excelent location - it's a 3 minute walk to Westbanhof, where you can easily catch the train and the metro (line U3).
It is also located one block away from the main shopping street in Vienna (Mariahilfer Strasse), and, through this street) it is a 20/30 minute walk to the center, which is quite doable.

The hostel is in a very nice building - with big staircases and a very pretty facade. The lift doesn't doesn't work after 22.00, so we had to go up to the 4th floor (where the room was) by stairs, but after a long day walking, what are a few more flights of stairs? :P

The room had 7 beds (3 bunkbeds and a single one), which allowed us all to stay in the same room together, since we were 6. It had a private bathroom which was functional and quite clean. We were also provided with bed linen, and there were lockers in the room - they had no lock (what is normal in hostels), but it shouldn't be a problem if you take your own (as it should be a common practice for travellers expecting to stay in hostels).

There was free internet in the hostel - you just had to ask for the key. There was no coverage in the rooms, very week coverage in the staircase - so the best place to connect was in the common living room which was no problem at all, since that for those travelling alone is the best place to meet people.

The staff was also quite friendly.
Overall, I would definitely stay here once more if I come back to Vienna.

I stayed with 4 friends in an 8 bed dorm in the ground floor. The room was very quiet, except on the first morning at about 5:30 when what sounded like 100 suitcases were dragged down the stairs!

The free breakfast was perfect. A list of what wasn't free is next to reception.

George, one of the staff, was very friendly, challenging us to free games of tablefootball (usually 50c).

Highly recommended to anyone travelling by train and on a budget (free breakfast a big plus!).

Only a block and a half from Westbanhof station but 10-15 min walk from most sight seeing attractions in city center. Right next to shopping district. Staff was nice, but hostel is not very new so have to take stairs half the time (up to 4th floor) and bathroom/shower was not the greatest. But it gets the job done! A few blocks from starting point of the pub crawl, it has an outdoor courtyard & common room with Wi-Fi (not in rooms). Have to pay for cold breakfast and laundry.

Stayed at this hostel for a few nights during our European trip. It has a fantastic location to get around the city, whether it is a train, tram, metro or other kind of transport you are using, it is perfect. The common room is the heartbeat of this place where many people gather and make friends throughout their stay. The staff are brilliant, especially George! Very accommodating and would definitely go back when visiting! A great place to stay!

Myself and two others (mid-20s) stayed in a mixed 10 person dorm for 2 nights at the start of our interrailing trip. Its so close to Westbahnhof station (about a 10 min walk) and reception were always helpful with any questions we had about directions, etc. There is also an Aldi and ATM 3 mins away which is handy. For anyone interested in going out too, its also 10 min walk away from 'The Travel Shack' a great bar/club with cheap drinks (for Vienna!) with a great mix of locals and fellow travelers. The hostel room was clean, with an in room shower, good size lockers to fit whole bag, and we met some lovely people in our room! There's also free wifi available but it's only available in the common room area, we didn't really find this a problem though and the common room is also a nice place to meet others staying in the hostel. As for eating in, there's a microwave available and plates/cutlery. I'd definitely stay at this hostel again and reccommend it to others! :)

Ok hostel, nothing special. The location was alright, only because Westbahnhof is a few minute's walk away. Otherwise, I would prefer to stay closer to the city center. The dorms are clean, but very hot. My major complaints are that the wifi does not work except for in the common room/outside area and that large groups of people, including receptionists, congregate outside the hostel late at night regardless of the day of the week, making it difficult to sleep (especially because I had a first floor room).
