I booked for 4 nights earlier this month. The hotel is located about a 5 min walk from the nearest metro station on a quiet side-street and about 10-15 min from the center of the city. You do have to walk up a couple stairs to get to the reception. The reception staff are young, extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful (all 3 restaurants they recommended served excellent Austrian food and were within walking distance; one was even open late on Sunday evening). All speak fluent English. My rooms was fair sized by European standards, light, with design furniture. It's mini bar was stocked with Austrian wines and various snacks. My room had a great walk-in shower and the window looked out onto the courtyard below. Service was great; even on a week-end the staff were able to wash a load of clothes for me. The breakfast buffet, although a bit pricey, offered a very large array of yummy items and was definitely worth the money. After 4 pm at their bar you can try a wide variety of Austrian wines. I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms look out into the courtyard

I loved this place for many years. This is where i first took my gril out, andthis is where I proposed to her. After that, we stay there every year for our wedding anniversary. Very romantic place, with great furniture in the rooms. Love it!

Other travelers agree that rooms are huge and comfortable with every possible amenity, excellent location and wonderful staff. We could not have been happier! The bar/restaurant menu is small but very good. There is also room service which we used before going to the opera. all the recommended restaurants were excellent.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 1st floor and we loved it.

Truly a delightful hotel. The rooms are large, modern and decorated with taste and originality. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast copious and interesting and the second best we have had - the best was in the Rathaus' sister the Rosenvilla in Salzburg just before (the Rosenvilla is smaller so one can imagine that it's easier to add the extra touches) But that is not to say that the Rathaus is not excellent - it suffers only in comparison with itself. The family who created and runs these hotels is extraordinary in their good taste, their passion for excellence and their ability to make you feel welcome - three qualities shared fully by all their staff.

Stayed here for 4 nights and would definitely recommend this hotel. Had a huge room for european standards with good amenities. While the street is not very busy, we could here traffic and conversations down below at night from the 4th floor so would ask for a room towards the back in the future. We had drinks/snacks in the wine bar twice. While I didn't get her name, (shame on me!) the nice woman working both evenings was super friendly and very knowledgeable about Austrian wines.

All staff were friendly, spoke good English and helped make reservations several times. Breakfast was pricey but also delicious and plentiful...yogurt, meats, amazing cheeses, pastries, etc. Especially loved the coffee!
