“Great location, comfortable rooms”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

Great location near the museums and central attraction, but on a quiet street. The rooms are well appointed, although the bath tub could have used a longer spray shield to keep water off of the bath floor when showering.

Comfortable bed, great high speed internet included with room at no extra charge. Very good breakfast buffet (not included in room price). Desk staff was very patient answering our tourist questions.

Overall, an outstanding hotel.

Our first time in Vienna. We stayed eight nights at Rathaus Wine and Design during the last week of October, 2013. Very good location close to the city center yet on a quiet street. Our room was comfortable clean and spacious and everything worked great and the lighting is thoughtful. They have a nice bar and breakfast area, nice to relax in after a day of walking in the city. The wine bar is fun as Austrian wine can be hard to find in the states and staff is knowledgeable on local wine.
We very much enjoyed our stay.

We stayed with our two children for four nights here and the Hotel made our stay in Vienna memorable. We took two rooms with interconnecting doors and were pleasantly surprised to find the rooms very well lit, spacious and tastefully decorated. The high ceillings were a plus point for us together with the fact that it had no carpets (always a problem for us with the dust issue). The Location is wonderful as it is a 4 Minute walk to both the tram and the subway. Breakfast was also good but a bit on the pricey side. Would definitely go back there again.

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Rathaus in Vienna from 25 October 2013. The hotel is well-located for the Museum Quarter, the Ring, etc. Our room was a good size, imaginatively furnished and comfortable. Everywhere was very clean. The bar area is bright and tastefully furnished in a modern style. There is also an outside courtyard that can be used. The antipasti at the bar is excellent and the wines very good. Service is prompt and friendly, which is more than can be said for most places we ate in whilst in Vienna. We'd definitely stay there again.

We have stayed in this hotel for one night with my partner last weekend. The location is just amazing! 5 minute by walk to the city center, surroundings very nice! We could not have been happier with staff, all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also great- a large selection of fruit, homemade cheese, bread was tasty as well wide range of cakes made me feel stuffed after the breakfast...Room was nice and comfortable. The only thing we didnt like was some strange smell in the rooms toillet and the fact, that only 60 km from Slovak border there was no Slovak or Czech TV chanel (although there was about 60 TV chanels), but thats silly. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely like to come back.

The hotel is an interesting effort to reach a crowd more appropriate to Northern California than a historic European city. There is a strong emphasis on cuisine, wine and design-- as the hotel name obviously indicates. What this means for the traveler, is that there is great care shown for the guests' overall experience. Another plus is the care front desk managers take to answer questions, provide information and suggest city destinations.

The hotel itself is located on a side street just outside the city complex, which means less noise and a more local experience with non-touristic neighborhood stores and restaurants. That said, the hotel is within easy walking distance to the city center. In many ways, that's the best combination for visitors.

Physically, the hotel has a vertical footprint-- which means a small lobby and restaurant, and floors with only a few rooms on each level. As other reviewers have noted, rooms are clean, modern and have a nice relaxing tone.

Room Tip: We chose an interior courtyard room which limited the view, but eliminated the potential for city an...

I expected more from this hotel for the price we paid, which was about 2-3 times what we've paid elsewhere in Europe over the past few years. The rooms were nice, clean, had an eye to an element of design (our room had a small step up to the bathroom area and had nice dark wood paneling), but there was no view from our window (except overlooking other rooms' windows!) and it wasn't particularly spacious. The restaurant downstairs was pleasant, and did offer good service with knowledge of local wines; similarly, the front desk staff was very helpful, with suggestions what to see & do in Vienna.
Had we paid even two-thirds what we paid for this room, I would have given it a glowing review, but I feel it was quite overpriced.
