“New wave”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

Mark's is another of the new wave Viennese restaurants offering interesting food in basic if not stark surroundings away from the centre. We visited Hans im Gluck two days ago, which is of a similar style if less healthy eating.
While a fair walk from the Rathaus, the 48A bus goes past the door. Paper squares on the table rather than cloths with our reservation scrawled on it. Salads seem expensive but are extensive - my autumn salad was a plateful of radicchio, chicory and other leaves with pistachio, gorgonzola and bresaola. I followed with a salmon steak that came with capers, baby spinach, roasted tomatoes and a bulgar wheat/sweet pepper/onion cake. Excellent flavours well presented. Just to prove that they can do unhealthy, my wife had their Aberdeen Angus burger with chips!

“Great for Brunches as well”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

We were there two times, once for lunch and on a lazy Sunday yesterday morning for brunch. This time as before, Mark's has proved to be the best. Homy atmosphere, attentive service, delicious food. It is especially cosy in cold weather, as they have a fireplace. It is non-smoking too, a rare thing in Vienna!

“A Trendy Restaurant In Vienna”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

A little corner restaurant that serves delicious food. The ceasar’s salad was very good as was the risotto with grilled squid. The place had a great vibe, filled with young and trendy people, lounge music playing and a staff which was just as trendy as the diners.

“What a find!!”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

We arrived in Vienna not sure about where to eat. After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we knew immediately that this was our kind of restaurant! The restaurant itself is cool and trendy with an indoor and outdoor option for eating. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. We started with a very flavourful couscous salad with tomatoes, parsley, chickpeas, and hazelnuts topped with a large helping of babaganoush - how creative!! We thought we were eating an Ottolenghi salad in London! The flavours were bursting in our mouths and we are still talking about it! Our main meal was thyme risotto with calamari - another winner! The dessert plate was more than we could have asked for - a rich vanilla ice cream, a quinoa mousse, and a decadent chocolate cake. Hats off to the proprietor who is also the cook! Don't miss the opportunity to eat at this very innovative restaurant.
