My husband and I were in Vienna for a long weekend and wanted to try some new restaurants that we hadn’t tried yet. There are so many to choose from, but we both craved Chinese food. Szechuan to be exact. I’m pretty picky when it comes to asian foods. Normally I don’t eat Chinese food at restaurants as I find it slimy and not authentic at all. But man did we hit the jackpot. A great menu, affordable prices, and very authentic! We started off with some vegetables, green pepperonis with a spicy Szechuan pepper sauce. Amazing! We also had morning glory (water spinach) with garlic and oyster sauce. We then tried the Szechuan beef and the chilli chicken basket. Beware. It’s very spicy! The only thing I didn’t like as much as I thought I would was the Chili chicken basket. It was too salty and felt more like a bar snack than a main dish. But the beef Szechuan was amazing!!! Not slimy, just delicious and authentic. Next time we will share one of those as it’s big enough for two anyways with starters first. I hope they never change their portion sizes and their pricing, and become something else. As long as they stay they way they are today I will come back, again, and again, and again!
