“Fantastic Hotel”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

I was away in Vienna on business and I decided to bring my wife and daughter for the trip. We stayed here, our first time in a Kempinski hotel. All I can say is that it was absolutely excellent. Fantastic attention to detail in all facets of the hotel - they even included a baby pillow and baby duvet in the cot for our daughter. We will certainly use this hotel again.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights then left Vienna and returned to the hotel for another 2. Both times we arrived we were upgraded to a suite, the second time to a junior suite.
We came with our 2.5 year old daughter who was very shy at the entrance and immediately was given a teddy bear which she didn't let go of the whole trip. Even the day we left the doorman gave her a little Kinder egg surprise which she hung on to the whole trip back home. Super friendly staff!
The rooms are luxurious, extremely spacious, up to date, everything you would expect from a 5 star luxury hotel in 2013. Designed in a modern Art-deco style with attention to every small detail. Rooms are equipped with ipads with wifi. Also Nespresso machines for coffee and tea.
Location is excellent, on the Ringstrasse so a good starting point for a lovely walk around the ring to see all the beautiful sites. But also a really good location for exploring those little streets with many local businesses and lovely shops with a personal style to each.
Excellent public transportation outside the hotel and taxis at the entrance at any given time.
We arrived at the hotel from the airport with a car arranged by the hotel. The driver was absolutely professional, well mannered and friendly. The car was super comfortable. You arrive in style at a stylish hotel, the whole experience really begins at the airport.
This hotel really delivers an experience!
We had breakfast once at the hotel which is not to be missed. Rest of the time we ate out just because we wanted to experience as many places as possible.
The bathrooms, with underfloor heating, equipped with everything you need and may have forgotten to bring along. Spotlessly clean. Shower and bath are so high-tech.
Staff is so welcoming, friendly, helpful, warm and professional. No exclusions.
Definitely going back there again and even curious to try out Kempinski hotels at other destinations. They definitely know what they are doing.
I think we have never had such a good experience at a hotel, even though we have travelled to 5 star deluxe hotels, there was always something...

This is the ultimate hotel experience. We don't always travel so posh, but this was a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Our suite featured huge windows that looked out on a statue of the Emperor and opened for fresh air and viewing of the Ringstrasse. The suite was as stylish and sleek and sophisticated as I could possibly handle -- ivory silk upholstery and all the woods and walls in shades of taupe and sepia. Soundproof. Glass-fronted built-in drawers in the closet, and the most glorious rain-type shower you will ever experience. Incredible lighting in the bathroom. I took lots of pics of our suite, hopefully to show a contractor some day when remodeling comes up on our endless list of projects. I want that shower.

The breakfast buffet was first-cabin all the way. You will never enjoy more delicious and intensely-flavored jams and jellies, and the cheese board could make you weep with joy. We thought the lobby bar was more bar than lobby, and the prices were beyond what we could find humor or tolerance in -- $24 (equivalent) for a cocktail? No, thanks, anyway. But the beer was fairly priced, and the staff were all multi-lingual and helpful and the hotel location is excellent, picturesque, and safe. This is a wonderful base from which to explore and enjoy Vienna.

I was lucky enough to win two nights in a Jr Suite at this hotel and it lived up to all my expectations. Daniel, the concierge, greeted me at arrival and Jennifer, the "Lady in Red" upgraded us to a Palais Suite. Spacious, beautiful and with its own iPad, two large flatscreens, a bath and a half and a vanity in the bedroom. The bathroom was perfect (I want one!). Overhead and wand showers with instant temperature controls. Set it at 38C and you get 38C. The bath also had a faucet and wand and the same control panel.

As others have noted, the breakfast buffet is incredible. Apple strudel is the best breakfast dessert, ever. But we enjoyed it all. Everyone throughout the hotel was gracious and friendly. The common areas and restaurants are beautiful, too.

Kempinsky has alot to offer and being a new kid on the block, it has alot to boast about. Loved the high tech amenities for the shower and bath, inroom ipad that controls everything from room service to room temp. Room was comfortable and elegant without being stuffy. The foyer was beautiful and bellboys were excellent and very jovial and helpful. However, the service is lacking in it´s 5star rating. The reception when we arrived was less than cheerful, and checking into a Hanson Suite should warrant a better recpetion or guided tour of the hotel...but none of that. Breakfast was plentiful but service was slow and forgetful with orders. The lobby bar again did not hit the right tone or spot in terms or service level, room service turned out to a drama with one of the service staff. I really hate to say this but I think the young and inexperienced staff needs an experienced and watchful Senior team to make sure it delivers the pampering service I was looking for. Perhaps I will visit again soon to see if they warrant a 5star rating from me as others have done.

Room Tip: suite facing courtyard is super quiet

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The modern and spotless facilities were so luxurious and comfortable. The downstairs spa is a dream. We almost cried when we went to breakfast and saw the amazing display of juices, freshly baked goods, omelet bars and coffees. The experience was topped off when the chef came by with hot croissants still on the tray right out of the oven. We loved the loaner bikes that the hotel had available. We stayed here with our college daughters and the recommendations by the concierge fit us perfectly. They sent us to just the right places for our group. I can't recommend this hotel enough. What an amazing hotel experience. Thank you!

This was a great hotel. Lovely rooms - not large but very well equipped. The beds are so comfy and the pillows and duvets some of the most light yet snuggly ever.

The breakfast at 29 euros per person is a little expensive but everything is very good quality and very tasty.

I would recommend the cocktails...the best cosmpolitan I have ever tasted.

The service is very good. There when you need it and not when you don't.

Overall an extremely good experience.
