We have just completed hotel stays in Vienna , Paris , Milan , Florence , and Rome , and this hotel set the standard by which we judged the others.

All the hotels were approximately in the E 300 to 400 range.

With the exception of the PHK, all fell down in one aspect or another : the room would be well appointed but the service would be poor, or the service would be good but the room would be very small or not to the expected standard.

The PHK ticked all the boxes as they say, with service and room presentation all of a very high standard .

We booked a grand deluxe room, and were upgraded on arrival to a junior suite, which was a very nice gesture from the hotel. I did have a look at a standard room ( 'superior') while we were there. As expected it was a lot smaller than our room but was appointed to the same high standard.

We walked to all the city attractions.

Stayed for a long weekend and availed of a 3 for 2 nights deal. The place is top notch.Very professional staff. Very little to fault, but you do pay,for example, if you fancy a packet of crisps from the mini bar... you get little change from a fiver - so I didn't. Best shower & bath I've ever had. Lovely 2-room suite, all the trimmings & decor are first rate. i-pad provided. Limited choice of free TV, and the pay-to-view movie choice didn't entice. Didn't use the restaurants - usually prefer to wander out from hotels and anyway they didn't seem too busy - maybe a bit pricey for many. Recommended especially if you can get an affordable deal.

This property is gorgeous, and the rooms have everything you would expect of a 5 star property. The rooms are a very generous size, with an enormous bathroom, with heated marble floors! Such a beautiful modern room, and so quiet. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, with so many options. I especially loved all of the fresh fruit jams for toast and pastries. The lobby lounge area is beautiful, and each day seemed quite busy with travelers stopping in to have tea, or a glass of wine. The service in the restaurant and all through the hotel was top notch. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return again in the future.

Simple perfect, especially the breakfast and the bathroom :) The staff was very kind. The lobby was also perfect, good albums (books) in the lounge and wonderful cookies and sweeties in the bar. I can just recommand them!

To start with the best: the breakfast! The quality and variety of the food on offer, from the freshly squeezed orange juice to the perfectly prepared egg-dishes, the huge selection of breads and pastries and even a special low table with special treats for children was absolutely delicious. Add to this very attentive waitresses who cleared any used dish from the table in no time (at least on the first day, they were quite a bit slower on the 2nd...) and you have a great start to the day.
The rooms are well furnished and the bathrooms a delight. The electronic controls in the shower are intuitive, functional and simple and you will not be standing unsuspecting under a suddenly awakening rain-shower.
Service was helpful, friendly and mostly perfect. Orders for drinks in the lobby lounge were attentively clarified carefully mixed and nicely presented. Only the business centre is difficult to find, extremely basic and was not really functioning.
And all this comes, at least right now as the hotel only opened in March, at pretty attractive rates and thus provides significantly better value as the other top class hotels in Vienna
We have already booked the next stay!

We celebrated our 20 year anniversary at Palais Hansen, and were very pleased. Great room and fantastic bathroom. Also very impressed by the breakfast. Service top notch. Some confusion upon our check-out, but not a big problem.
The location is great in a quiet area, just 200m from both the tram and the subway.

A special thanks to the "Lady in Red" for providing a personal letter and sprinkling our bed with rose buds.

Only thing I can complain about is the lack of English language TV. CNN or BBC should be a minimum in a hotel in this range. Also paying for music in the room via the entertainment system is not expected when you stay in a luxury hotel.

My daughter and I visited for a long weekend and had one of the nicest experiences ever in a hotel! Lavish lobby and luxurious hotel rooms, a friendly and hard working staff and a fabulous breakfast buffet helped to make our stay in Vienna superb!

We can't say enough about the accommodations. Our suite was spacious, yet warm and inviting. The beds were some of the most comfortable we've ever had. The hotel location turned out to be wonderful. It was far enough away from the tourists, yet close enough to walk everywhere. An easy 15 minute walk to St. Stephans or museums. We enjoyed having the university nearby and loved being along the Ringstrasse.

The hotel staff was incredible. Personable and hard working, they all tried very hard and it showed! We greatly appreciated their excellent service and friendliness. We enjoyed talking with them and felt lucky to have had such a great experience.

Only suggestion would be to add staff during busy times, particularly during breakfast and in the hotel lobby. That would help ease congestion at breakfast or check-in.

The cleaning staff was excellent. Our room was always cleaned well, and turn-down service was excellent.

We would definitely stay here if we come to Vienna again. We miss it already!
