Stayed here with Mrs 1960 for last weekend in November. Main lobby oozes money (and perhaps a touch of bling). Service superb but breakfasts a bit fraught. Room spacious, well equipped - no problem whatsoever with shower/bath controls. We were at back of hotel where it is very quiet indeed. All new so really is at its best now.

Breakfast once a table was secured, was very good indeed.

Location good - 10 mins max to centre.

Would deffo return.

This was my second stay at Hansen. This time full booked hotel was keeping its unbreakable nr.1 status little bit harder but passed.
From first moment there were some little problems I have never experienced before in Kempinski hotels.
1. Additional bed was ready, but no children amenities at room (little bathrobe, slippers, toy...)
2. Keycards stopped working during stay suddenly.
3. Aircondition in one of my rooms was not heating (althought 22C was there)
The point is staffs attitude how to solve. Technician repaired damaged AC unit almost immediately (in that complicated hotel, where everything runs on LAN or WIFI via iPad almost incredible speed), keycard was question of 10seconds and boys things appeared quite soon.
Then unexpectedly arrived tasty liquid apologize (big Pol Roger Champagne, 4 Single Malt Macalans and very tasty sweet box. All for free.
Everyone, who is doing something useful in life knows, that machines could break down (even those running on MS Windows system) :)
I just felt little uncomfortable in certain moments when i had to solve something what i do not want to solve on relax stay, but the hotel returned, what he took me, many times more. This problems were worth some walking to reception :)
So in spite of that I am looking forward to next stay very much, maybe I try to harm AC to get another alcohol for free :)))
Finally i must mention perfect room service (paid items too), food taste and quality, spa, breakfast, best sleeping quality ever experienced, nice and comfy bathrooms and many more.

Few advices:
1. Do not despise atrium facing rooms, they are super quiet compared to street facing ones.
2. Let Wi-Fi connected Babysitters at home, entering room number and guest name do not technicaly enable you to use it at hotels Wi-Fi.
3. Try soups offered by room dining, amazing!
4. Play with Kempinski iPad on room - very clever device. For example ordering food and picking up used tray is a easy game for child ;)

This hotel opened only in March 2013 in an old resedential palace, after having been used as offices. Even though it is newly opened, the staff seemed very well-trained, and the service was incredible in all areas - a true deluxe hotel. My room , a junior-suite, was about the size of my living-room at home, and had everything You could need including a Nespresso coffee-brewer and a working-desk. The location on Schottenring is conveniently close to public transportation and for walks, without the intense traffic along other parts of the Ring in Vienna. The lobby is atrium-style.

My husband and I went to Vienna for a long weekend at the end of November. We stayed for 4 nights at the Kempinski and were delighted by it. The hotel is fairly new having opened only in the last year or two.

We arrived on an early morning flight and although our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 11am, the receptionist took our number and offered to call us when it was. We left our bags walked the short 10 minute walk to the city centre and had a coffee and at around midday, we got a call saying our room was ready. We headed back to the hotel and picked up our keys. Our bags were delivered to us within 5 minutes of us arriving in the room. Service throughout our stay was pleasant and effortless.

The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were crisp and pillow menus were provided. There was an iPad provided for all sorts of functions, from changing the channels on the TV to ordering room service. I loved using the iPad to order breakfast as it meant I could physically select what I wanted, and Dining staff would call and confirm it back to me on the phone.

We had a bath and a separate shower and toilet in our room. Luxury bath products and fluffy towels and robes were provided. There was a massive amount of wardrobe space which was useful for separating coats and boots from the rest of our clothes. Other extras included complimentary shoe shine, an in-room safe and a Nespresso machine along with specialty teas.

The location is fantastic, in the first district, it's a short walk to the city centre and the hotel is right on the ring road. The tram runs directly outside the hotel and we took this to go to City Hall and to the Opera District. There is also a U-bahn station a block away.

Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Vienna.

We stayed at this hotel based on the reviews and were not disappointed. It has to be among one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.The lobby was atrium in style and beautifully designed. The room was spacious and very high tech - i pad, electronic controls in the shower.Breakfast was amazing - everything you could want including Champagne! My only slight criticism was that one of the bars allowed smoking which made it 'no go' for us.However, there was another very pleasant bar and the lobby was good to have a drink in.The staff were helpful and curteous at all times. It looks as though the location of the hotel is not very central but it only to us 10 mins to walk to the centre of the Inner Stadt. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Vienna.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kempinski over the Thanksgiving holiday. The hotel is spacious, clean, and well-appointed with a great room in the lobby that is perhaps one of the nicest across Western Europe. Upon arrival, we were given a complimentary room upgrade -- the rooms are well-kept and the beds are some of the comfiest I've slept on in Europe. The bathroom is beautiful and spacious, and the electronic controls for your shower/bath water temperature are incredible. The only issue I had with the room was the lack of English channels on the TV, but we weren't watching much TV anyways. The service at the Kempinski is excellent -- employees are kind and courteous, and eager to help out in anyway they can. Both concierges, Jean and Daniel, were especially helpful in making dinner reservations for us and offering excellent suggestions of places to go in Vienna. Additionally, they arranged a guided tour day trip to Salzburg with a driver who picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel - this tour was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The Kempinski's location is perfect for those who like to be close to the city center, without being too close -- the noise level at night is much quieter and peaceful. Lastly, the spa at the Kempinski is just another fantastic reason to stay there. We were able to use the pool, the fitness center, and the sauna/steam room which we greatly enjoyed after a long day of sight-seeing. My only issue with the spa was the lack of a hot tub/jacuzzi -- an integral part of any spa! Regardless, we had an absolute blast at the Kempinski and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The value of staying at the Kempinski is well worth it.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the gorgeous Hansen Suite Dec 13-15. Everything about the hotel was flawless. Suite was fantastic. Bathroom exquisite with heated floors and easy to operate electronically temperature controlled shower and tub. iPad in the room and Nespresso machine a nice touch. Wonderful breakfast with huge selection and help-yourself champagne. Extremely responsive room and concierge services.

Our tip would be: book your dinner reservations WELL BEFORE you arrive at the hotel. Vienna is an incredibly busy city especially at this time of year.
