I have stayed at hotel geblergasse for 2 nights only. The hotel is not far from its city centre, a nearby metro and tram station gets you quickly into the centre (5-10min). The room of the hotel was spacious and clean and fits all basic needs. We also had breakfast in the morning which for 5 euros was a pretty good deal. Overall id say this is a perfect hotel if you do not want to spend too much money and dont mind using public transportation to get you anywhere.

the hotel is near the metro station Alser Strasse ( as I remember), in a quiet area , the rooms are big ( we booked a triple), clean! the breakfast is ok, you have a variety of products! quite close to center ( 15 minutes with the metro)

If you're going to Vienna for the first time or on a budget, or vice versa, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. That being said, if it is your first time in Vienna, do some research on the city. Find out what it is exactly you wish to see, and make any contacts for info about these things beforehand. I'm only going by our own personal experience with the hotel, so it may not be the same with other guests, but the information we received from the hotel staff about local things to see or do, in particular opening hours, or other significant info, were way off. It's worth mentioning we visited during the week of Christmas, but honestly everything we were told about the local attractions considering hours AND operation were wrong. We ended up going with our guts, and travelling to our destinations to find out for ourselves (example, Schonbrunn Palace). Other than that, it's in a decent location, close to the Alser Strasse U-Bahn station (Vienna's subway). You can easily reach any part of the city, as well as the surrounding villages, from this station. Quite frankly, next to Paris, Vienna has the most convenient, easiest to understand, public transportation system in all of Europe, and staying at the Hotel Geblergasse, getting around Vienna will not be an issue. It was clean and comfortable. The room was a typical quiet hotel room (ours was on the second floor). The hospitality and housekeeping service was on par with a typical 3 star. There is wired internet in the rooms and wireless, including several hotel PC's in the lobby, as well as a bar. If you're getting in late, we recommend the Italian restaurant behind the Alser Strasse station. When you walk outside the hotel, go to your right and walk to the McDonalds. Go left and look across the street, behind the Alser Strasse U station, there you will find it. We always try to find something close to the City center of where we are travelling to, especially in Europe, and even though this hotel isn't so centrist, it is very convenient when it comes to getting around the city. You can be in Stephansplatz City (downtown) in a matter of 15 minutes. But do yourself a favor and travel around to some outer parts of the city. I'm confident you will find it a quite charming city.

Room Tip: If you're on a budget or never been to Vienna, or vice versa, Hotel Geblergasse is not a bad cho...

i write this review based on a 7 hours stay at this hotel....
arrived at 4 00 am , requested for a late check out because we wanted to sleep more .....
at 11 11 phones ringing at we were announced that the check out is at 11 00.... i was a little bit sleeepy and i hang up the phone .... after 1 sec i realize that i didnt tell her that we asked for a late check out ...so i wanted to call back ....no option for that , tried 0 , 9....not works
i went into reception and asked to check out for 13 00 , cannot ....maximum 12 00 , i said that we want to take a shower .....cannot .....maximum 12 00 so we had 26 minute to take a shower and to check out
we are in time for check out ....we still want to drink a coffee.... also this one was short .... we were asked to pull the car out from the parking because thay give the parking lot to another client....
soooo the room was 32 euros, parking was 9 ....for 24 hours
- rooms are clean, nothing to say about that but staff was rood , not friendly, when we leaved we forgot a tshirt in the room , at the elevator we realized that but the acces card was already reset so we cannot open the room anymoore , we didnt want to make scenes in there or to get stressed .....
in the last years i traveled a lot but nothing like that happened!

It's 3 star hotel.
I think it's the only hotel you can use 3 star hotel in the center of Vienna with the cheap price.
What can you want more?

Was a very simply furnished room. Had a twin room and only had it in two single beds two chairs and a table.

Was a quiet room looking on to street on third floor. Beds comfortable and all very clean. Shower leaked a little bit think they sent someone to fix.

Location wasn't too good. Is close to a train stop ad the tram line but not very central.

Supermarket and post shop all within about 15 minute walk.

I stayed for 3 nights at hotel Geblergasse. The hotel itself is relatively well located, close to the metro station and to the tram station, so you can reach the center in around 20 minutes.
The good parts:
- we slept really well (no noise from outside or anywhere)
- it's clean enough
- it was warm, even without the heating on
- the location, as i've said
- it was cheaper than most other hotels (50 euros)
- free wifi and computers in the lobby (but bad connection)
- about 3 supermarkets close to the hotel

The bad parts:
- the internet cable in the room didn't work (so no internet in the room)
- small room that had a general "worn" aspect
- i had the impression the area around the hotel is deserted (not many people on the streets at night time)... but it didn't seem dangerous or anything like that...

Overall, i liked the hotel because the basic stuff: sleep well, clean room and nice location are all met (more or less). If you want more than the basic stuff, this hotel is not for you.
