“Quiet friendly hotel with suspicous breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2011

Nice area, nice crew, in friendly environment. Comfortable quiet rooms.
Very good location, easy to reach inner city and conference centres.

The quality of the breakfast is poor, the meat was a bit suspicous to not be too fresh.
A bit inconvenient that the restaurant in dinner time is closed for weekends and holidays. That's a common mistake from the hotel that in this case they do not offer some place to the guest where he can have something to eat.

Dear Markov,

Many thanks for beeing guest in our hotel and for your time to write a short review. Our guests opinion is very important for us, that we can continue improving our services.

Althought I do not understand what is the reason for you, that our breakfast is poor. The meat is cut every day. We have always 4 different types of cold cuts, 2-3 different cheese, 6 different cereals, fresh fruit, 3 juices, homemade cakes, pates, dried fruit and a great variety of bread. Egg-dishes can be ordered and we prepare them in the kitchen.

The restaurant we will be opened again everyday, as we want to apologize for the inconveniences.

We hope that we can welcome again to our hotel, so that you can check our improvements

Kind regards from Viena

we stayed (me, my wife and a couple of our friends) in the hotel in the period 28-12-2010/01-01-2011.
A good experience, goood service, good restaurant:. The hotel is close to the bus stop: you may get the center of Wien within 45 minutes.

Although this hotel is at the end of a public transportation line, we were able to be in the center of Vienna in about half an hour. The service was excellent, including helping us find a doctor on new year's eve. If you can afford to pay the price, I highly recommend it.

Very nice people who own the place, but MAN are they cheap! We had one of their so called "apartments". Well, a fridge, counter top, sink and cooktop does not make it an apartment. There were two puny wine glasses. Two cups, two saucers. See a pattern here? Could I get a tea-towel to dry my dishes at least? I went to Ikea and among other things, bought six decent sized wine glasses for a whopping €3.00 so it's not like that kind of thing is expensive. Otherwise our friends would have been drinking out of the bottle I guess. Oh, and whatever you do, don't bother paying for the internet. It was pitiful. I had better success at one of the many free wifi hotspots around vienna.
Since my wife is in Vienna for business, and I had to come back to the Netherlands, she has stayed behind. So, since when do you remove the bedding from the other half of the bed when a person leaves? Seriously! First they took away the bedspreads for some reason, and then after I left, they took away the pillow etc. where I had slept. Who does that?

Only eat in the restaurant if you really have no other place to go. Pretty mediocre.

Dear Mr. Spacesaverbob,

First of all we want to thank you that we had you as guests in our hotel. Thank you that you've taken your time to write here your opinion and that you help us to improve our services. We like to give here a short statement. Our apartments with kitchen-corner are built for short holiday breaks and not for long-term-holiday-rentals. We do not offer anything more than a kitchen-corner. Normally we offer dishes for the number of persons reserved, but it's never a problem to have more dishes or other kitchen stuff. Unfortunately we've never get informed about your need of more glasses etc and your expected visitors. We are very sorry to read that you haven't been satisfied with our offered restaurant service. We are a little bit surprised about that, as we could welcome you several times with your wife in our restaurant, even with your friends. An ideal WLAN access depends of different things like distance to the hotspot, quality of the laptop,.... We would be pleased, if you give us an other chance and we can welcome you again in the Strebersdorferhof. Yours family Haas
