The Savoyen aims to be a business hotel, but as a matter of fact there were lots of tourists from all over the world (Asia, America, Middle East, South of Europe) which was really disturbing especially at breakfast.

The hotel is located in a nice area and close to a subway station. Taxi from the airport is aprox 30 euro.

But lets start with the check in. You come into a large and nice lobby, check in was done pretty well. My room in the 6th fllor was decorated very nicely, with quite new furniture, clean and in a really good shape. The bathroom is also quite large and I do not understand why they put in a relatively small shower cabin and left quite some room unused. You could have done better, dear architect. This is probably the only slightly negative point on the room, besides this my room was equipped with a good bed, a table to work on and a chair and a table to relax, all with nice and good furniture.

I did not use the Spa and Gym, so I can not comment, as I understood there is no pool provided.

After a good night of sleep the breakfast was a dissapointment. The room was crowded with people and I needed to wait a few min to get seated. The breakfast was a buffet breakfast incl self service coffe from a nice machine. since it was really crowded there were ques in front of the coffee machine, in front of the joice spender and some more. Taking the food took far to long and as a business traveller you do not have too much time. Besides this, the quality of the buffet in terms of selection and in terms of quality did not impress me much (for example the orange joice was a horrible cheap quality). another negativ point was that because of the crowd in the breakfast room talking in many different languages, it was really loud. From my experience, I can not recommend the breakfast

The check out went fine, there were no taxis in front of the hotel, but reception called one which arrive in approx 3 minutes.

Btw, the hotel is a non-smoking hotel, no smoking rooms are available

This beautiful hotel has it all. Our room was spacious, modern, and clean. The bathroom included a toilet and a bidet, as well as a large shower. Water pressure was excellent, and towels, robes, and slippers were provided. The split bed was comfortable and the temperature was easily adjustable by a wall thermostat. Free wifi is available in the common area, with wired internet in the rooms.

Some have noted that it is in an inconvenient location, but in my opinion that can't be further from the truth. The S7 train takes you from the airport to the Rennweg stop, which is literally 3 minutes from the hotel (we timed it while carrying luggage!). The tram is just as close, and the #71 takes you directly into Karlsplatz. From there you can use the other public transportation to get around the Ring, or just walk as we did most of the time.

The breakfast was great - a good selection of fruits, meats, cheeses, eggs, and coffee drinks. It is available until 10:30, which is nice if you want to enjoy late Vienna nights and sleep in, as we did. It may be targeted toward business travelers, but this is one of the best hotels we've experienced in Europe. The staff really was friendly and helpful. I attempted to communicate in German, but all the staffers answered in excellent English anyway. :)

The only inconvenience we experienced was an employee at the front desk who gave us incorrect directions to Bratislava. He was mistaken in his written directions, but it was minor and we caught it before it took us too far out of the way, so it didn't affect us much. (Tip: you don't need to take a train out of the main station. Just walk out of the hotel, back past the Belvedere Palace and directly to the Sudbahnhof - it has a train that goes directly to the main Bratislava station!)

I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended the hotel to friends who are considering a trip to Vienna. You can't go wrong with this lovely hotel.

We spent the last two nights of an 8 week trip in this hotel. (We had been in 14 prior hotels.) I was so happy to have soft sheet and towels and a lovely large and clean room and bathroom. The location near a train station and two tram lines was great for arrivial/departure by train or plane and for getting around the city if you don't want to walk. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the center of town (opera area). A great brewpub right down the street.

Stayed 2 nights in July - we were 4 couples. Everyone had a good opinion of the hotel - very comfortable and elegant. The rooms are pretty good size ( some mentioned small rooms - not so) and the bathrooms were extremely well planned. Watch out for a string hanging down in a corner in the bathroom - don't pull it. It's only for meant for emergencies - I hear the front office is alerted when you pull it. Someone should mention this to the guests. The staff at the front office were very helpful and ready to help. The breakfast was good too with a wide choice. The location is not perfect, but not too bad either. Quite a few eating places close to the hotel. Overall a very elegant hotel to stay while in Vienna.

I really like this hotel very much! It sits right next to the train station, and several bus stations. So the commute is very convenient to everywhere. But it is still very quite. The room is quite big, clean and modern. The staffs are not only nice and friendly, but extremely helpful, especially to someone like me who was traveling alone but did not know where to go. It is surprisingly not pricy either, most probably because it is not right in the center of city. But I think it is close enough, and convenient enough. Another added bonus of this hotel is that it is only 5-10 minutes walk to the world famous Belvedere Palace, where you can find Klimt's collection such as "The Kiss". I would highly recommend this hotel.
One more note, if you want to stay at this hotel, and would like to visit the city quite often, the best way to do it is to get a weekly pass, which only cost 15.00 Euro. This pass can be used everywhere, the metro, tram, bus....
