“Nicely designed hotel, good comfort, without the crowded feel of hotels”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

I come very often to this hotel which already says it all. Nicely designed hotel, great, spacious rooms, without the crowded hotel feel: the rooms are spread out on several floors of a residential/office building. It is well located, with several buses taking you all around, and the close vicinity of the "Haus des Meeres" and "Naschmarkt" makes it very attractive for both families and culinary visitors.

It is great that it has its own garage - in Vienna parking is mostly impossible, so if you are by car, this is a huge advantage in the middle of the city.

Breakfast is great. Well, this last time its selection and quality seemed to be much more constrained then before, but I am sure they will return to the old, traditional high quality, 4* breakfast again with smoked salmon, great coffee variety, hot and cold buffet, with a large(r than now) selection of Austrian breads that are a treat themselves.

Service is also very good, staff are very helpful.

The family rooms and suites are special - they are really huge, very comfortable even for larger parties.

Room Tip: family rooms are great, huge, two rooms. higher floors are quieter from street.

we spend some time at this hotel.
Perfect location for city traveler.
Rooms are big and comfortable however no air condition. (As we stay during July we fund this necessity). Bathroom / shower were very clean and new.
We use the hotel parking - convenient.
Breakfast buffet very good

The first impression is maybe not the best. The builing seems a bit old and well used. But almost everything else is great. The staff, the rooms, it's quiet, the view is great and it's very good situated. A three minute walk from the nearest U-bahn station and Mariahilfer strasse. Many nice places to eat and drink on both sides of the hotel in Gumpendorfer strasse.

The only negative thing was that there was no air conditioning system. Vienna can be quite warm in the summer.

When I arrived it looked scary… No hotel sign, the building is old and ugly and it seemed like a crappy hostel. However when I got to the 6th floor (the reception is there) everything started to look better.

The rooms are big and modern and the bathroom is spacious.

Some things could be improved:
- the carpet had a lot of dust
- the shades on the windows were old and didn’t block the sun completely, making me wake up really early every day. Even the curtains were unable to block the sun. And one of the shades was broken.
- during my first day no one cared to clean the room, which is a bit odd in a 4 stars hotel
- the staff had no knowledge about the Vienna Card, which is strange specially since it is mentioned in the binder of the hotel as being sold in the reception. I also asked for a suggestion for a restaurant to eat near the hotel since it was Sunday and the girl wasn’t able to give me any good suggestion (unless you consider McDonalds as a good suggestion…)

The breakfast was simple delicious with fresh bread and a lot of choice. However the guy asking for the room number was rude and stiff.

I would recomend this hotel since it was perfect. With the subway station very close, just 3 minutes walking and the biggest shopping street in Vienna just around the corner.
I wouldn’t consider it to be a 4 stars hotel but a very nice 3 stars.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the street have no good view, but the ones facing the back have a good view over th...

If u book a 3 star hotel probably will cost u cheaper than bella vienna!!! The hotel was ugly, filthy, old and generally the worst 4 star hotel that ever been to... red old carpets, old and filthy furniture, the lift was manufactured probably during 70's. The breakfast.....do not eat!!!!! There were some sandwiches served during our staying with mould .... choose other hotel for ur stay in vienna believe me!!!!! Like pakat suites, regina hotel (hotels that i have stayed and are more than ok)

The room was big, but the bathroom was a little smal, but it was nice. The hotel is close to the main shopping street, and the zoo. It is also very easy to get to many of the historical buildings by walk. Good With the parking in the garage of the hotel, It was a good hotel, but nothing spacial.
