“Always good, excellent service.”
Reviewed 4 September 2010

To start with (see other reviews) The only thing that is Turkish is the name. This is a fish restaurant. The ambience is extremely pleasant. You can watch the chefs at work or sit at the far end of the restaurant. The menu is refreshingly simple. Try the 'Skipper', mixed fish in butter sauce, fine simple flavours. As we live in the South of England where the lobster is superb, we tend to stick to sole or the prawns San Danieli (rather rich). There is no tomato ketchup on anything. (We have eaten there many times). Desserts are fun. You can watch your chocolate souffle being made. Wines are not cheap but you may have a glass or twoif you wish. (Austrian wine is on the whole light and cheerful especially the white). Kervaseray is not cheap but compares favourably with J Sheeky in London which is of a similar class. This is a restful place patronised by businessmen, politicians and couples. Many are regulars including us.

“Very good fish/seafood restaurant”
Reviewed 3 August 2010

It is always a bit intimidating to arrive at a restaurant and find it totally empty of guests, but this is exactly what happened when we showed up at 10 pm for dinner last night. The staff was friendly and never rushed us, but it was hard to avoid the feeling that we were the reason they were not yet able to close for the night. As a result we can't really judge of the atmosphere of the restaurant itself, but we can say the food was excellent. the restaurant announces itself as a Turkish restaurant specializing in fish and seafood - we saw little of the Turkish accents in the food we ate, but fish and seafood preparations were outstanding. We started with a great plate of salmon carpaccio with tiny capers and olive oil, as well lobster and salmon raviolis that just melted in your mouth. Then filets of monkfish with chanterelles (mushrooms) accompanied with tagliatelle, and poached salmon in white wine and vegetables. Everything was fresh, very well-prepared and delicious.

“Bad Service”
Reviewed 14 November 2009

We were in Vienna on vacation the first week in Novenber 2009. Let me start out out by saying the food was really good. But the staff acted like they were doing us a favor. They sat us at the back wall of the restaurant facing out. There were plenty available tables (we should know, we were there for 2 hours because we were ignored). For what they charged we should not have had to ask for anything! We would have liked dessert but we were so frustrated waiting that when we finally got someones attention we were so grateful we paid and left.

“Biggest disappointment in Vienna....”
Reviewed 23 February 2009

A warning. This is an overpriced unpleasant experience. Certainly many many better options in Vienna at this point for as this was the only poor experience we had in four days of dining. For starters, it is a Turkish restaurant with an attempt to do seafood upstairs, not a proper seafood experts. Items such as the "specialty" lobster soup were poorly executed fish soup with some lobster in it, not lobster broth. The lobster ravioli was literally chef boyardee level with ketchup on top. Left it almost untouched and was taken away with no comment. The wine list is laughably overpriced for the better wines (an average Brunello for 100 euro, while the Austrian wine they recommended at 40 euro was undrinkable). The ambience is noisy cheap chairs type place so definitely not suitable for a special occasion. We were booked in there by a top hotel concierge and still received horrid service. Vienna has moved on way past this and its time they stopped steering tourists here.
